A/N: Cheesiness abound, fair warning! And I'm sorry TT_TT
"Why can't you suck up your pride, and do something right for once?!"
"I AM making things right. You're the one who's too stupid and blind to not see that! This is exactly why it's not working anymore. It's this!"
"Oh no. No, you do not drag our relationship into this. It's all about your performance as a father!"
The door bell rang...
"Face it, you're dragging EVERYTHING into this! No wonder your daughter's a wreck! What, are you just waiting for the next man to enter the scene, so you could—"
There was a loud slap, echoing off of the stone walls. The doorbell rang again...
"Kisara, get the door!"
"F*** you!"
"What did you just say to me?"
Rushed footsteps pounded down the wooden steps as a pair of feet hurried for the front door...
"Exactly what I said."
"I'm your wife, and if you don't respect me—"
"You don't deserve it anymore. Not after what you did! You think I don't know?! You going to his place after work so you could stick another man's c**k in your mouth?!"
"SHUT UP!"
A silent frustrated cry left her lips as her eyes fell in an exaggerated blink. Closing the door behind her quietly, she looked up, already expecting the visitor who arrived at a timely moment. She needed to get away. Her eyes told the entire story when they met his. She walked passed him, already heading for his car parked temporarily on the driveway. Wasn't it horrible enough that she could still hear her parents' screams even at this distance?
Seto watched as she walked passed him quietly, adamant to escape from her own house and the torture her parents made her live through.
"Any place in mind?" He asked quietly once they were situated in his car.
She sniffled, trying her best to keep the tears from falling. "Just... I don't want to be here."
A loud crash resounded from within the house, and she flinched, squeezing her eyes shut. She hated it. Hated what her life had become.
Without another word, he shifted his car into first gear and lurched out of the wretched street. As they drove, Seto couldn't help but think back to the earlier days of their courtship. None of it had been romantic, that much he could say, but it was genuine. In all of two years that he had gotten to know her, he had never seen her more devastated. From all the times they had talked and shared their secrets with each other, he knew how hurt and rejected she had been all her life, how her loneliness had intensified when her family began falling apart at the start of the new year.
Seto knew he wasn't the type of guy to know the right things to say, but he knew what she needed right now, and he knew what he wanted to do. He took the road leading off of downtown and into a less populated part of the city where most of the time it was quiet.
Kisara watched the world around her go by in a dizzying blur as Seto sped down the streets. The ride was silent. She wasn't in the mood to talk or discuss things, granted, her parents' brand new fight had darkened her mood long ago. Growing up in a different town hadn't been perfect. Her childhood had been rough. She never suffered under their hands, but she was most definitely neglected all her life. The move to Domino City just made her family problems worse. She didn't outright care anymore, but she knew her father was right to suspect that her mother was seeing another man. What's worse, her father wasn't that far off either. He took a girl home one night when her mom had been away on a company trip, and she had had to endure hours of hearing that girl scream in pleasure across the hall. Kisara wasn't sure who had started cheating on who, but that was it.
