Weeks passed. Times of laughter, daze and mindlessness. As Sick had already imagined, these happy days already were filling the pages of his journal. Remeber? The same journal he got at Ron's ...instead of hookers.
Anyway. The warm shades of October had now faded. Then the ice cold rainfalls of November too came and went so fast no one even noticed the gloomy month pass. As Sick turns the page and writes another entry in his journal, he notices that Christmass is just around the corner. Indeed, Sick took a look outside the hotel's window. Thick snow blankets covered the rooftops.... . .
Sicks Journal.DEC 17
3:40 AMZoe left. I just found a note on the counter where she explains her disappointment in me. ...My distance and needfulness is not her thing... at the end, she adds that she has met someone new...
I'm not sure... how am I supposed to feel now. I mean, she was just a girl I "won" from a guy named Bill in a strange restaurant a while ago... I'm surprised she decided to stick around, in the first place. Still, for some reason, I feel I should be somewhat sad? I thought of her as my companion... or something. Turns out she liked the money more than me. Well ...to hell with her.
From now, I'm on my own, I guess. The annoying thing is that, now that she has left, I kind of remember what I am...
Maybe I should visit Ron?
I will think about it.
Thinking...End of entry.
. . .
Sick closed the journal and pushed it aside. He turned off the lamp light and sat for a while in darkness and silence. All of a sudden something annoying... something bothered him. A distant buzzing in the back of his mind... Sick couldn't put his finger on what it could be or meant... He turned the light on and once more took the journal to read some of his earlier entries. Maybe it was Zoe he was looking for... after all, the journal now was the only evidence of her existence... or not. Sick firstly wanted to somehow escape that echoed buzzing noise that was invading his head.
For about 15 minutes Sick was completely taken away by the journal. Throughout the pages he noticed himself change. His handwriting was getting sloppy, the entries shorter and with less colour, even his slang was changing.
Sick quoted some of the things he found weird, "Bling - bling? Deep pockets? Beggars spend it on booze?!" Sick nodded condemning himself," God, sometimes I am full of it." He went through few more of his recent adventures and complimented himself... "Not bad... You go Sick."
The buzzing sound was gone, yet still Sick felt strange. He felt like there is something he is supposed to do...
He turned off the lights again, lit up a cigar and went out on the balcony. It was really cold, however, Sick was so occupied with his thoughts that he barely felt any discomfort. Everything was sort of dreamlike to Sick. The moment felt like a movie and he was just a viewer, sitting somewhere in the distance, watching.Sick kept on thinking, looking for that something...
Once more he returned to Zoe and the day he met her in the restaurant with Bill. After luckily avoiding encounters with Bills bodyguards, Sick and Zoe spent the rest of the day together, and what do you know? Turned out they were quite a match for each other, so as Sick wrote earlier, Zoe decided to stick around. It's hard to say if she really did use Sick for money since they really did have a thing going on ...but you know... witches will be bitches.
So, In the duration of the past weeks, they did everything! They had already visited several countries, shopped for everything they have ever wanted. Gotten drunk, high, sober, drunk again. Hanged out with celebrities and well-known artists, done extreme sports, eaten exquisite foods... etc.
Sick happily watched the flashbacks dancing before his eyes, then something hit him.
