Chapter 2: Project His Story

August 25, 2017: Mr Hofmann assigns Felix and his friends their first group project in History. A new student at Geraldine High School surprises Flynn.

It's been a few days and Flynn has met Felix and his friends and all seems to be going well for the young boy. He first met Aliyah who he thought was friendly, and very beautiful. If he didn't bat for the other team, she definitely would be his type. Then he met Diego, who he thought was the comedian of the group, but had the cutest puppy eyes he's seen. Then there was Annabelle. He did like the girl and she was very welcoming and kind, but she was Flynn's girlfriend. His crushes girlfriend. He would admit that he did feel utterly disappointed, but for some reason he still couldn't stop himself from liking the other guy who's supposedly straight, has a girlfriend, and would never think of him in that way. But the others had welcomed him into their friend group, and he now has people to sit with during lunchtime, so is very grateful for that. He doesn't mind Geraldine High so far, no one seems to take much notice of him but his friends, but he wonders if that would change if they found out who the real Flynn is.

"Today will be another good day Flynn, just take a deep breath" Flynn thought to himself as he entered Mr Hofmann's class for History. He spotted Felix sitting at his desk already, and decided to take his seat next to the other boy.

"Hey man, rough night last night," Flynn said to his friend with a subtle smirk on his face, as he watched the other boy trying not to fall asleep in 1st period.

"Oh hey Flynn, didn't see you there," the sleep deprived boy replied, trying to keep his composure but failing miserably.

"Felix, did you get any sleep at all last night?" Flynn questioned his friend, who literally looked like he was going to pass out any minute now.

"I'm fine Flynny Boy, I was just up doing some research," Felix informed his new friend, while the latter's face turned bright red in the form of a blush.

"First of all, Flynny Boy, really Felix? Already giving me a nickname; and second of all, what the hell would you be researching when we haven't received any official assignments in any of our classes yet?" Flynn says to his friend who's finally starting to show slight signs of full consciousness. Although he was surprised by the nickname which he found adorable, his mind was wondering what exactly it was that his friend was researching last night.

"Well if you really want to know, I was going through all the animal related incident files from the towns public archives, which was totally legal to look through, and see why there would be any reason why the town council would possibly put so much funding into animal control business," Felix informed the other boy, who stared back in confusion.

"So did you find anything interesting then," Flynn replied, curious to know whether there was an actual explanation of whats going on in this situation.

"Well Flynny boy, there were no reports of any animal related accidents in the town until 2007 till 2009 where there had been 22 reported incidents, and then after 2010, nothing man," Felix told Flynn, who know looked like he was in deep thought.

"Umm yeah, that is rather strange," replied Flynn.

The boy started feeling anxious, as memories of the past two years start to resurface in his mind; certain memories he would like to leave behind with his old life prior to moving to a new town and starting a new school while hopefully making new friends.
