Chapter 11

Ragini sighed to herself for the unkempth time as she stared outside her window towards the moon. "Why did my life become so complicated all of a sudden? Before this marriage deal and all, only things I had to worry about is getting out alive after playing pranks on Swara and Maa, or stealing money from Baba's pockets. Now, it's as if I entered a kill zone where I'm being targeted from every. Single. Side!" Ragini put her head in her hands and let out a frustrated sigh. "Why me!?"

"Ragini? You still haven't changed your clothes from earlier? It's been two hours since we got back from the fair! How irresponsible of you!"

"Shut it Swara! I'm chatting with the moon here. After all, it's the only solace left for me in these cruel circumstances!" Ragini groaned out dramatically, making Swara shake her head at her elder sister.

She would have tried to talk it out whatever was bothering Ragini, but Swara had her own problems to deal with. Like how she and Laksh planned to tell everyone the truth the next day. 'I may not get blamed. But Lucky? He has to face everyone for his actions. I'll stand by him to support him, but I hope his parents and mine understand that he didn't have any selfish intentions behind his deeds.'

"You go sleep Swara. I'll go to bed after some time."

Swara nodded and left her room after bidding Ragini goodnight.

Once alone, Ragini thought over what Caleb told her. 'Is Sanskar really just another lusty arrogant snob who wants me for my body? Was that the reason he was acting all friendly so that he can get close to me and convince me of his fake generosity? But...but he seemed so genuine. I've never doubted Caleb...ever. But now, my intuition tells me that Sanskar isn't that bad.' Ragini grabbed her head in distress. "Why the heck am I defending him when it was me who hated him in the first place!? Why am I being defensive of Sanskar? Was Caleb really saying the truth when he said that I was falling for Sanskar's charms? Am I...am I starting to like him back!?"

She took out her phone and looked at Sanskar's picture. She smiled unconsciously on seeing his smirking face. 'Well, he is kind of handsome...and charming. He's fun to hang out with too. I like arguing with him. And when we were together in the ride, he seemed genuinely scared to death! Aww...he looked so cute!'
