Chapter 13
"So? Are we good to go?"
"Yeah." Ragini got up and followed Sanskar out of the photo booth. "Wait Sanskar?"
"Yep?"
"You go on ahead, okay? I'll just go wash my face."
"Alright. I'll be waiting near the entrance."
Ragini nodded and they both parted ways.
After few minutes...
Ragini splashed her face with water and looked at her reflection in the mirror of the washroom. "What exactly am I supposed to do?" she sighed to herself and gripped the basin in thought. "On one hand, I...I think I've fallen for Sanskar. On the other hand, I fear what would happen after marriage. Am I willing to choose love over freedom? Or will I choose freedom over the one who I think is the one for me? But what if he isn't the right guy? Ugh! My head's gonna burst!"
"Well, you should listen to your heart. The heart never lies."
Ragini looked towards the side to see a woman smiling at her. "You think it's that easy? My heart is torn between love and freedom."
"Well, I still think your heart knows the truth. But, if you still feel conflicted, then you should know that love doesn't necessarily mean giving up of your freedom."
Ragini blinked at her in confusion. "I...I don't understand."
The woman smiled. "At the end, people want freedom or love to gain happiness. And if you really love someone, you won't worry about freedom for your happiness. If they love you without considering you as only an option, if they love you unconditionally without asking anything much return, isn't that freedom? If they can make you love them without feeling like you're in chains, isn't that freedom? If you can love without expecting anything much or feeling obliged, isn't that freedom?"
Ragini looked down in thought. After all, the woman wasn't wrong. "But it isn't the same for me. I think...I guess?"
