My head rested against Jake's back, as we ran though the forest. I turned my head to see the hooded man next to us. I still couldn't believe it was our king, why was he traveling with us. Wouldn't he normally be traveling with his private army of G.O.D's, not with two random people.

After awhile we reached a clearing and Jake put me down. My body was still weak from earlier, so I just sat down on the ground, as the king spoke, " as you know we have lost our kingdom.." He paused as he remembered something. Then he continued, "we the survivors of this disaster must find away of sorting out this mess. At this moment I am really worried about the invaders attacking other kingdoms, where magic is." I became confused when he said the last sentence so I asked, " but wasn't kingdom D the place were all magic lives." The king look at me and said, "sadly no, you see there was a rare case, around 23 to 25 years ago where a woman left the kingdom when she lost her powers, so she went into the world and met a man who she fell in love with and then married, she then had two children, the eldest with blessed with strong magical powers, the powers which her mother had lost. She is now the queen of a kingdom not far from here... I think you may now her as the snow queen." "Oh," I said as I remember my sister talking and doing her hair like the snow queens. I then feel tears gather in my eyes, but I stop myself from letting them go. "So why is her kingdom in danger?" The king coughed to clear his throat and said, "the mages that attack us were not true mages, I believe they are after magical power so that they can create a man made magic, therefore after conquering our kingdom they may go after, 'the snow queen's next."

I look at Jake he just nodded his head at everything the king was saying. I had two more question I needed to ask the king, so I asked the first, "Your highness... I must ask how they managed to take over the kingdom so quickly, also why did we not fight back what happened to the G.O. D's why did they not protect the kingdom?" Ok, maybe I ask too many questions just then. The king sighed and said, "we have never experienced something like this before, so we were unprepared for this event. Also there plan was well thought out, they had mages who could stop others from using there magic making them viable to attacks. And finally the G.O.D's do not exist." I stared at him with a confused look and said,"wait, What?" He sat down on the ground and I asked him, "then what am I?" He look at me and said,"You are the only Guardian of D to existed for centuries..." "That's why they called me there target..." I said, almost shouting it. "Yes," he said, " and that is probably why they killed your whole family, as the leagude says, 'only the loved ones of the chosen, can pierce there skin." I started at him confused and he continued saying, "only those you care about can kill you, those you don't care about can't hurt you." "Oh," I said out loud. I look over at Jake he was sitting there quietly listen to everything, or he was asleep. I honestly couldn't tell the difference. Jake then raised his head and said, " so why were they after, her?" "Hey!" I said, "I do have a name you know!" "Sorry," Jake said almost laughing at my anger. The king turn to Jake and said, " they might of been after her power, if they could use her she could be a great weapon, but now they have lost her she is now a great threat to them." I then said, " wait, but I can't control my powers yet." "I know," the king said, " that's why we will go to the snow queen and have her help us."

He look around and said, "We better get moving." Me and Jake both nodded in agreement. I tried to stand up but my legs wobbled and I fell to the ground. "Here," Jake said, as he gave me his hand to help me get up. As I took his hand he lifted me upon to his back again. "Thanks," I said to him. He just smiled and said, "your welcome." We followed the king through the forest and once we exited it. We saw a kingdom. "That," the king said, "is where the Snow queen lives."
