Scarlett

'We're here, sweetie' Dad said beside me, I blinked up at him realising I have been daydreaming again, I have been doing that a lot lately since two months ago.

After moving in Cheshire, I have been struggling to find a college that would accept me in because of my lack of education. I don't have a perfect record in schools, I always have been suspended for fighting, poor attendance, always late to classes, haven't always been easy student for any teachers, several detentions and more. I've never liked schools, I've been in three different schools before the last school gave up on me and decided to expel me after found me high and drunk in the toilets smoking some cannabis and me holding a bottle of Jack Daniels in my hand.

Guess the universe decided to be on my side a month ago when I finally got accepted into a college in Cheshire, that's when we moved to the town. Me and dad have been staying at my aunty Sal and uncle Brad whole month in London, it was a long drive from London to Cheshire so that's why I promised dad that this time I would stay out of trouble and start to think of a bright future, I owe dad that much after everything he'd done for me.

'Hooray, my first day!' I rolled my eyes and dad chuckled.

'I'm proud of you, sweetie' dad smiled at me, 'I'm so proud of you that you're starting fresh and rememb--'

'Yeah yeah, no trouble or boys!' I laughed, interrupting dad.

'No bad boys!' dad emphasized on bad, raising his eyebrows when he say that.

'Yeah, I'm so done with bad guys anyway' I rolled my eyes at dad, in spite of saying it thousands of times but he need some reassurance that I won't go back to my old ways.

Dad smiled, 'Good, go ahead! You shouldn't be late on your first day being a good girl, sweetie!' he started to grin at me knowing that it would annoy me.

I rolled my eyes and exited from the passenger seat and out of the door shutting the door before I heard dad laughing loud.

'Bye dad!' I waved at him before slipping my backpack onto my shoulders, dad rushed off in his car. I looked at the back of the car that dad's driving in, wondering what job he's going to find today, that's if he would find one. I smiled at the thought of dad searching for a job, he gave up everything behind in America for me.

When we were rushing to leave the town, we went back home to pack few things like our few days worth of clothes, toiletries, passports, few things and money before leaving everything behind that we will never see again. We got on a plane to England within two hours, we wanted to leave everything behind and didn't want Dean to catch us so we left to London where dad called his young brother, my uncle Brad that we're coming to visit.

Once we arrived in Heathrow airport, aunt Sal and uncle Brad approached us and take us to their house which is about an hour drive from the airport. The very next day dad forced me to tell him, Sal and Brad everything so I did, ever since they all have been great to me and support me to get in college. Uncle Brad had some connections to few colleges and Cheshire college was one of them so they accepted me in a month later.

Now here I am, starting my first day at college where I promised to behave, no matter what. I sighed before heading in the building in front of me, I was never nervous when I was new in a school or meeting new people, I just don't like places like schools and colleges.

I head towards the office that was easily to be found, it was just round the corner from the entrance and there was a sign at the ceiling telling us where the office was. I was told from the acceptance letter that I need to go to the office to register myself in and get my timetable of my chosen classes. I had no idea what classes I would like to be in so I randomly picked English, Art and Music classes, the classes seem simple enough for me so I went for it.

'Hi, I'm Scarlett Bailey and I'm new here' I said as soon as I got to the front of the office, the elder lady who looks around 50s looked up, pushing her glasses up from sliding down her nose and smiled at me.

'Bear with me for a minute, I'm not very good with computers!' she laughed and I joined in nodding, college doesn't seem so bad.

'Okay, you picked English literature, Art and Music, correct?' the lady asked and I nodded.

'Yeah that's right' I said simply, smiling at her.

'Okay, I'll be back in a minute, I'm printing your timetable and oh, one of the students will be here soon to meet you and give you the tour for the day' she smiled sweetly, standing up before heading to the printer in the back of the office.

I turned from the office, started to wandering around the area, I eyed the huge glass display cabinet next to the office, I walked up to it and see what's on the display. I see a lot of different sorts of trophies such as the soccer players and the musicals, there's a lot of pictures as well. I eyed one specific picture, I narrowed my eyes to look closely as the picture was really small. I saw a tall man with beautiful emerald eyes with rich chocolate brown curly hair, standing and smile so proud at the camera holding the trophy that shows one of treble notes shining gold at the camera, I frowned, who's this guy?

'Hello, I'm Elaine!' I jumped at the voice behind me, my heart beating.

'Oh jesus, you scared me' I said to the girl in the front of me, I chuckled holding my hand to my chest where my heart have been jumped.

'Oh sorry, you're Scarlett Bailey?' the girl, Elaine said.

I nodded, looking up and down at Elaine, not in a bad way I was just being curious. Elaine's like a inch or two shorter than me, wild curly brown hair with a big and thick black rimmed glasses that might be a little too big for her baby face, she's got tan skin and I could tell it was natural. I could tell she's a nerd but behind the glasses I could see that she's naturally pretty but hid her beauty behind the nerd look.

'Oh lovely to meet you, Scarlett!' Elaine held up her hand for me to shake while her another arm holding up two thick books to her chest.

'I'll be with you all day to guide you around the building, but in some classes I will be going that you're not in so I will meet you outside your class when it's over, okay?' Elaine said as I shook her hand.

'Yeah okay, but I need to get my timetable before finding my locker' I eyed in the corner of my eyes that the lady who's waiting with my timetable in her hand. I walked over to the desk to collect the paper before thanking the office lady and return to Elaine who was waiting for me.

'Okay what's your locker number?' Elaine said, smiling at me.

'Erm,' I took out of the acceptance letter with few details in it included my locker number along with my digit numbers which is my birthday, '2201' I said as soon as I found the number at the bottom of the letter.

'Perfect, that's next to my locker! Let's go' Elaine grinning before heading off in the busy hallway.

Huh, next to her locker? Maybe that's why she's been assigned to be my tour guide so it would be easier. I smiled, didn't mind to have Elaine as my company for the day.
