[Jonah]

"Bye mom!" I called as I hurried out the door, not wanting to miss the bus. When I felt the cool autumn breeze on my face, I shuddered internally. Sauntering off towards the bus stop, I was happily greeted by my best friend, Andrew.

"Wazzup, Jonah B?" he called out to me as I approached him.

"Not much, Handy Andy."

"I thought that was your girl," he said in a suggestive tone. The thought of Andi sent a wave of emotions over my body, dominated by anger and disgust.

"I broke up with her," I said in a matter of fact tone. It wasn't my job to think about her, anymore. All I had to think about was my man.

"Sorry to hear that, she was pretty hot."

"Hey, man, she's all your's,"

The bus pulled up after that, and I greeted our bus driver Sam with a nod of my head. "Hey sweetie. Have a nice day, ya hear?" she told me in a motherly tone.

"Yes ma'am," I told her. Sam was such a nice lady. Sometimes, she'd play her favorite country songs from Georgia. Her story about life on the farm back in Clark County always made me smile. I guess her humble beginnings were why she always stayed true to her southern hospitality, even though her husband ran the local news station.

As I went further on, getting to my seat, I smiled to myself. My dreams had come true. Cyrus Goodman was my boyfriend. I couldn't wait to see him and scream to the world that he was mine.

"Jonah!" Nicki yelled from my side. I snapped out of my trance.

"Oh! Sorry, I was just thinking about someone really special,".

"So things are going well with Andi I take it?" she asked me with questioning eyes.

"We broke up," I muttered as I looked down. She put her warm, caramel colored hands on my shoulder in condolence. The worst part is, I wasn't even sad, not a little bit.

"I am so sorry Jonah," she told me as her light brown eyes stared into my green ones. "Am I gonna have to kill a bitch?"

"Whoa! Violence isn't the answer," I told her.

Just then, my phone rang in my pocket.

"Sorry Nicki, I gotta take this

"Sorry Nicki, I gotta take this. Hey babe. Shouldn't you be on the way to school?"

"I am, but I needed to ask you something before I get there,"

"Sure, what is it?" I asked curiously.

"Can I tell a few people that we're..." He hesitated for a moment before he finally mustered up the courage to ask. "That we're boyfriends?"

I smiled to no one  imparticular, just happy to hear Cyrus say those words after all this time. "Of course, babe,"

"Thanks! Bye, daddy,"

"Don't call me that!" I yelled before hanging up the phone.

"Who's that you're calling babe?" Nicki asked me. I'd gotten so caught up in our conversation that I forgot she was there.

I sighed deeply before answering her question. " That was my boyfriend, Cyrus,"

"What?" she screeched at the top of her lungs. "You're gay! Yes!" She did a dance before screaming at the top of her lungs. "I FINALLY HAVE A GBF!"

"Keep your voice down!" I whisper yelled. "I don't want Andi to find out. She'll be heart broken," I told her.

"Ugh. Why do you care about her anyway? She's always been kind of a bitch".

"First of all, Andi is not a bitch. Second of all, I'm bi, and third of all, I don't want Andi to find out because she's Cyrus' best friend".

She scoffed. "Whatever," then turned her head to talk to the girl in the seat across from us. Just then, we arrived at school.

I walked off the bus and headed to my first class, which was with my amazing boifren, Cyrus. "Hey daddy," he said as I stalked into the classroom and took the seat next to him.

"How many times do I have to tell you NOT to call me that?!" I asked him shortly.

"Did I make you angry, daddy?" He asked me teasingly.

This time, instead of retaliating like I usually would've, I decided to ignore him and focus on what Mrs. Ramirez was trying to teach us.

"Thanks, Bertha," I told the lunch lady.

"Jonah!" Cyrus called for me across the cafeteria, sitting with someone I didn't know.

"Hey, babe" I told him as I sat down.

"Hey, daddy". I let a low growl escape my lips, but chose to keep my composure.

"So, who's this?"

"Well, Jonah, this is my friend Bronx. He just moved here from California," Cyrus explained.

"What's up, Bronx?" I asked him. He just gave me a shy wave before looking down at his lap.

"Bronx is a little shy, but he's really great once you get to know him."

Just then, a girl with ombre hair walked over. "Hey, Bronx. I forgot to give you the cheese sticks mom packed for us," she said.

"Thanks, sis. See you at home," he said kindly before regaining his shy demeanor.

"Is that your tw-" I tried to say before I was interrupted by a very upset Andi.

"Cyrus! Are you seriously sitting with the enemy right now!?" She asked angrily.

"Jonah is not the enemy! Besides, Jonah and I are friends. I'm allowed to sit with my friends, aren't I?"

"Cyrus, we're your friends! Way better than stupid Jonah Beck! I can't believe you're on his side! Why don't you just come back to us when you learn who your real friends are!" Andi yelled before marching off angrily. When I looked around the cafeteria, I realized that all eyes were on us. I also realized that Cyrus had gotten up and ran over to Andi and Buffy's table. I just sat down, minding my own business. As if she even has any right to be mad at me, or do what she did to Cyrus.

After a few minutes, Cyrus came over looking sad and defeated. "Was it that bad?" I asked him comfortingly.

"I don't wanna talk about it," was all he said in response. So, I respected him and left it alone. Or so he thought.
