𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐝 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞
from a long day of work.
As soon as you walked into your home
the familiar scent of surrounded you.
It also sparked a strong craving for your girlfriend.

Ashley was always burning candles,
but you didn't mind because you loved the smell;
as well as the calming feeling it gave you.

Although the day was over—and you were extremely happy to be home—you wished you hadn't
been to work.

It wasn't a surprise that you were working
when Ashley had a day off; your schedules
always seemed to clash in that way.

You started wandering around the
house in hopes of finding ashley.
"Ash!" You called out.
"Babe, where are you?"

Earlier she'd sent you a text saying
that she was working on a painting.
You didn't think she would still be painting,
but as you continued to walk around
the house, low and behold,
you found her in her art studio.

You peeked your head around the
door frame so you could admire her
before walking in.

She was wearing a white oversized t-shirt
with a mass of colors spread over it.
She was sitting in front of her canvas with
a leg propped up on the edge of the
stool she was sitting on.

Her right hand was occupied with a paintbrush, while her left was holding a paint palette.
She was very concentrated—eyebrows knitted together and a small pout adorning her lips.

You entered the room and in a
hushed tone said, "What are you making?"

"Shit!" She gasped, seemingly shocked by
your unexpected presence.
Her paintbrush slipped out of her hand's
grip and fell to the ground, rattling as it landed.
It rolled across the rolled across the room and settled a few inches away from you.

She smiled and said, "Babe, you scared me."

"I see that."
You laughed at her reactionwhile taking a
few steps across the room to retrieve her
abandoned paintbrush.

You walked toward her and wrapped your arms around her waist, hugging her from behind.
She placed her hands on your forearms
and began to stroke her fingertips
along your skin.

You placed a gentle kiss against her jaw
and continued to trail kisses
down to her shoulder.

She stood from her seat and turned
her body to face you.
She wrapped her arms around you and
rested her head in the crook of her neck.

"I missed you," she whispered,
her breath tickling your skin.

"I missed you too. So much."
You caressed her back and began to sway
your bodies from side to side.

You'd only been gone for around six hours,
but you were so used to each other's
company that six hours felt like six years.

You began to pull out of the hug,
but she stopped you in the process.
She placed her hand against your cheek
and looked into your eyes.
Her hazel eyes sparkled as she looked at you.
