A few days later
Error sat on the couch, a sketchbook resting in his lap with a pen in hand. His right arm laid across his stomach, holding the sketchbook still as ink touched the paper. He was solely focused on trying his best, knowing his success would make the skeleton at his back happy.
Ink sat on the squishy sofa as well, his back pressed against Error’s as they used one another for support. The creator scribbled skillfully all over his page, his body mirroring the darker skeleton behind himself. He sketched must faster than Error did, his ideas flowing with much more ease.
Eventually the constant scratching stopped, and the colorful skeleton set his pen down beside himself.
“Finished! What about you Error, how’s yours?”
The Destroyer, the name much less fitting nowadays, shifted his weight, his upper body turned to reveal a decently drawn forest. With a smile he watched Ink’s face grow rainbow out of excitement.
“That's really good! Who knew you’d be great at art!”
“Thanks, it's not that good, though.” Error chuckled as a light yellow tint came over his cheekbones. He looked at his forest for a moment, then turned back to Ink. “I guess it could be worse.”
Ink giggled at that, shifting his body to see it better. He was basically sitting in his lap now, most of his own body resting atop Error’s. “I still like it,” Ink smiled.
“What about yours? You said you finished.” Error quickly changed the subject to distract himself from the yellow that was taking over his face.
“I drew a wolf, they’re so pretty.” Ink said, admiring his drawing. His realistic style and shading made it look like it could jump off the page and come to life. Granted, Ink could do just that if he wanted it to.
“That's amazing…” Error mumbled in awe. “You're so talented-how did you get so good?”
The creator tilted his head in thought. After a while of silence he spoke with an unsure tone. “I dunno, I've been drawing for as long as I remember. Drawing and creating is all I remember…”
Error’s eye sockets widened, “Huh…” he mumbled again, then shrugged. “Still amazing, Skittles.”
“Skittles?” Ink asked, his face going a thick rainbow as he blushed.
“If you could see your face Everytime you blushed, you’d understand.” Error laughed, wrapping an arm around the colorful skele. “Yeah, just like that!” He teased, nuzzling into Ink’s shoulder.
The Creator hid in his borrowed hoodie, the vibrant rainbow spreading further across his face. “Error!” He squeaked, closing his eyes tight as his chest grew warm.
The darker skeleton smiled mischievously, allowing his arm to fall and rest against Ink’s side. He was quick to pull the creator closer as the yellow blush took over Error’s face. Ink’s warmth and touch made his soul flutter from beneath his ribs, the rapid heartbeat only making his cheek burn brighter.
The colorful skeleton sat up, turning his body around to face Error. He sat cross legged, leaning forward with a dorky grin on his face.
Error turned, but not fully. His legs dangled from the couch, though his upper body faced Ink. He lifted his hand, gently cupping the Creator’s cheekbone. His nerves calmed when Ink leaned into his hold.
The two sat still for a moment, their surroundings fading away as they stared into each other's eye sockets. The room was silent aside from quiet breathing, and the obnoxious pulse of Error’s soul.
Ink lifted his own hand, caressing the Destroyer’s cheek softly. His brown fingerless gloves were smoothe, and comforting, Error couldn't help but lean closer to the colorful monster.
The darker skele closed his eyes and tilted his head upwards, his hold of Ink’s cheek slowly drifting down to his jaw, his other hand slowly rising to cup the other side.
Ink did the same as he met Error's teeth with his own, his bones flushing with heat as he kissed the Destroyer.
Their kiss started as a small peck, the two giggling as their teeth parted, but it soon became a much deeper and meaningful gesture. Each moment felt as if it lasted for years, neither ever wishing for it to end.
And it didn't.
They kissed more often than Ink’s eyes changed.
