Shuffling my feet against the messily placed cobblestone, I walked slowly toward the exit tunnel. I would've preferred to run, but my heavy bags continues to weigh me down. As I neared the opening I recognized some of the kids lining up at the sign in desks as my fellow graduates.

I looked around for Madison. I spotted her toward the front of the line and pushed though the crowd to get to her.

"Madison. Hey! Hey Madison!" I yelled at her to get her attention with no prevail.

I sighed and paused my walking to rest.

Suddenly a girl with bleach white hair forcefully pushed past me, making me drop my bags.

"Thanks a lot, bitch," I muttered.

The girl paused and turned around slowly. Her eyes were narrowed into little slits.

"What the fuck did you say?" She growled.

"I said, thanks a lot, bitch," I repeated.

"You gotta fuckin' problem?" She said, giving me a shove.

"I will if you touch me one more time."

Before she attempted to punch me, someone jumped in between us.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Do you guys really think this is the best place to fight?" He said.

It was one of the elite enforcers. I imagined they'd sound more professional.

"She pushed past me and made me drop my stuff," I said angrily.

"Well that wasn't nice, but come on. You wanna get kicked out of the program before you even leave?"

"I can do what I want," I responded.

"No need to be sassy," he chuckled.

If the guy wasn't wearing a helmet covering his face, I probably would have punched it.

"Whatever," I said. I bent down to get my bags. Of course I had brought all of my stuff, so it was a bit hard to carry.

"Here, let me help you."

The enforcer guy was still behind me.

"You sure you don't have anything else to do?" I asked.

"Nope. I don't think they like giving me big jobs since I like to play around," he told me.

He picked up some of the bags and we carried them to the drop off carrier.

After dumping them in, I sat awkwardly for a few second before asking, "So can I get a name or something so I can properly thank you?"

"Louis. And you?"

"Sam. Nice to meet you, Louis."

"T'was a pleasure, " he said bowing.

"You try too hard."

"At what?" He asked, confused.

"Never mind," I said laughing, "so do you have to keep that helmet on? Its kinda weirding me out talking to you when I don't even know what you look like."

"Well, if you insist."

He pressed a button on his wrist and the helmet slid back into his suit.

If I hadn't any good composure, I probably would have gasped.

He was gorgeous.

But of course I wasn't going to let him know. But I couldn't help but stare at his tanned skin, prominent cheekbones and shiny brown hair. He even had a growth of stubble along his jaw.

I concealed my internal screams, giving him an eyebrow raise and smirk.

Before I could say anything more, a bell rung loudly, silencing the crowd.

"There's the commander," Louis said sadly. I looked over at him to see where he was looking, and my sight met a man in a jet black metal suit standing at a podium. His gray white hair stood out blindingly against his dark attire. He seemed to have a grimace permanently set in his face.

"I see we have a lot of entries this year. But only a few of you can get in. So you better work or I will send you home as soon as possible," he said with a rough voice.

"Now all of you must be grouped to a certain officer. Once we get to the camp, you will be assigned one, along with a group of others. The ship has arrived, so board with caution. Liftoff is in 20 minutes."

Then he walked off the stage without another word. I looked over at Louis who sat quietly before looking over at me to give a weak smile.

Then I grabbed my bags and we headed for the boarding dock.
