Some days pass and I mostly spend time writting my article for work. I've been texting Romano regularly now, but we haven't been able to meet up since our date. It makes me somewhat sad to some reason. Romano finally invites me over to fufill his promise of dinner, and I can hardly contain my excitement. He tells me that he'll come to pick me up around 2:00. I get finished early and I have about 30 minutes to spare before he has to be here. To kill time I go to a store near by. I really don't wanna show up empty handed, so I try to find something appropriate to bring to dinner. I finally decide that I'm gonna buy a bottle of wine. There's a ridiculously big selection of wines to choose from in Italy, but then a certain wine catches my eye. It was a wine that I recognized from the date. The sweet tasting one that Romano picked out. It's kinda expensive so i hope he appreciates me buying it for him. I buy the alcohol and some how manage to keep a conversation with the cashier in Itailan. As I walk home Romano sends me a text saying that he should be over shortly.
I keep busy at my house until he gets here. When I hear a knock on my apartment door a wave of joy flows over me.
Mc: "I'll be right there!" I yell.
I take the bottle of wine from the kitchen, put it in a bag and head to the door. After fixing my hair a little I finally open the door. I see Romano's bright green eyes staring back at me. He greets me with a shy smile and I do the same.
Mc: "It's been a while."
Romano: "yeah, it has been a long time since-."
Romano's sentence trails off as he stares at what's in my hand.
Romano: "what is that?" He asks while pointing at the brown bag I put the wine in.
Mc: "It's for you. I just wanted to say thanks for inviting me over, and you know, cooking dinner for me."
As I hand it to him our hands touch a little making my heart beat a little faster. Why would I get exited over something like this? Have I suddenly become thirteen again? I watch him gently take the out of the bag. I see his eyes light up and I can't help but to smile.
Romano: "It's the wine from before."
Mc: "Yeah, you like it right?"
He smiles softly at me.
Romano: "I do, thanks."
Holy hell, Romano being genuine and thankful? This is such a rare sight. Well at least I think it is. Then again I can't say know that much about him. Maybe this is how he always acts sensitive but with a though front.
Romano: "Hey, let's get going already."
Mc: "sure."
The taxi drives us to Rome. I wonder why Romano never drives. Can he even drive? Or is it just that he's kinda lazy. I do get that vibe from him. The car trip is kinda quiet so I speak up.
Mc: "Hey, Romano?"
Romano was gazing out of the window. He looks as if he's thinking of something. Almost like the time we were visiting the Isle of Capri. He turns his gaze to me slowly.
Romano: "Hm?"
Mc: "What's your house like?"
Romano: "aren't we heading there now?"
Mc: "Yeah, but I want to know what to expect."
Romano: " Well it's pretty normal."
Mc: "How so?"
Romano: "I'm not really sure how to describe it. It's like everyone else's house I guess. It has a bunch of standard stuff."
Mc: "I see."
