My comment only made him chuckle lightly sending deep echoes to the back of the car. His dark blue combat jeans hung loosely around his lower abdomen; right below the band of his grey Calvin Klein boxers while his white semi-transparent t-shirt was hidden by a sleek leather jacket that hugged his biceps perfectly.
"Where to malady?" He leaned towards me while controlling the steering wheel with one hand.
"You know right outside the Village Mall, there's this diner called Tim Bee's Diner? Go there." I shuffled in my seat to turn towards him. "They do the best steak in town but, today I want you to try their special burger and fries." I also gestured with my hands.
After 15 minutes of driving we reached our destination and once again Caleb held the entrance door open for me. Taking a seat near the window, I felt overdressed, but still underdressed for the party. As soon as we sat down a young brunette girl around my age trotted towards us.
"Welcome to Tim Bee's diner, may I take your order please?" I soon came to the realization that she was flirting with Caleb by the way she was swaying her body side to side and the simmering smile plastered on her face which made my own mouth hurt.
"Erm..." Caleb looked away from her to give me a hopeless face.
"2 Tim's special burgers please, one large fries and one medium and same with cokes." I told her with a smirk playing on my lips.
"Anything thing else?" Her smile returned to her face as she leaned near Caleb's seat.
"No." His eyes fixated on me while his voice radiated commanding power which startled the bubbly girl before she left in confusion.
I couldn't help but smile at the fact that he nearly scared the girl with only one word. I tried my best to hide the smile that was attacking my lips, but it soon turned into a smirk.
"What?" He asked leaning forward, interlacing his fingers together while resting his elbows near the edge of the table.
"What?" I licked my lips while tilting my head to the side.
"You know what?" He remained still in his position while his facial expression read annoyance.
"She was flirting with you..." Admitting those words out loud removed the smile from my lips and put a dagger through my heart. I hadn't felt like that in such a long time that I had forgotten what that particular reaction really meant.
"You would have liked it... if I flirted back?" His expression was still unreadable.
"I don't know." I scowled at him.
"Well, I do, because I wouldn't have liked it if someone flirted with you and you flirted back." His brutal honestly shocked me, making my heart pump faster as I grabbed onto the edge of my seat for stability.
"Oh... well... erm..." He left me speechless for a couple of seconds. "Fine... we'll just be 'friends' who don't flirt with other people." My whole body started to squirm in place forcing the hairs on my body to stand up against my will.
"Are you cold?" Caleb noticed my reaction as he started taking off his jacket.
"I don't know." I blinked a couple of times not understanding what exactly was happening to me. I wasn't cold 30 seconds ago and the temperature in the diner was considerably high. Caleb only chuckled at my remark leaning forward to place his jacket around my shoulders like a cape.
"Kira!" I snapped my neck towards the direction of where the voice was coming from. "Ahh, I see you brought a new friend." The man in his early 40s strolled out of the back of the diner with a white apron hanging low across his stomach.
