"Uh, I have to go too, guys." Nick said as he hurriedly stood up in order not to loose Cissy. "I'll see you all later." He walked out of the cafeteria and into the hallways. He looked around but she wasn't there.

Where was the damn calculus class again?

He turned around hoping to see her somewhere and just then he caught a glimpse of that amazing mass of dark hair, just a second before she stepped into a class on the far end of the hallway.
He went into a full sprint and came to the door of the class less than a minute later. He stood at the door, his eyes searching the whole class for her.
Heads turned as he walked in but he barely was aware as his eyes finally found her.

She'd taken a seat at the back of the class, a slight frown on her face.

Nick sighed and began to walk over to her. Her head came up as he took the seat in front of her. He didn't utter a word but just stared intently at her.

She smiled. "I didn't think you'd know how to run a marathon."

Nick scoffed. "Oh please, what do I look like? An anorexia patient?"
Cissy laughed. "You can stop feeding your ego now."

He smiled at her. "Hey, I'm really sorry about what Paris said earlier. That was quite stupid of her."

"Its alright. You don't have to apologize on her behalf. I also said something stupid to her. I shouldn't have brought that up. We're both guilty."

"Well, I think she's more stupid not to feel sorry about it, just like you do. That's what makes you acquitted."

"Are we in some law court now? With you being Judge?" She teased, smiling.

"Maybe." He said, placing his hand on hers. His eyes held hers and he wished he didn't have to look away but he just had to.

Damn that school bell.

Nick rose from the seat to leave, just as Iris walked into the class. He gave Cissy one last reassuring smile before he turned to go.

"Nick?"

He stopped and turned back around.

"Thank you." She said, sincerity in her voice.

He gave her a curt bow and a wink before heading out. He blew Iris a kiss when he passed her and she laughed.

He walked to the door, a satisfied smile on his face.

His work here was done.

She was smiling again.

Saturday evening, Cissy's phone beeped, signaling the entry of a message. She didn't look at it yet as she tried to focus on finishing her English Essay on the concept of 'Etiquettes'.
Twenty five minutes later, she was done. As she began putting her books in order, she recalled the text she'd received earlier. She put her books into her bag and reached for her phone. Her eyes widened when she saw that the text was from Nick.
'Hey, if you aren't too busy, please meet me in ten minutes. I'm at the library down the road from your house. I'll be waiting. And you should come with your English essay so we could handle it together. Nick.'
