A/N: Alec up there!
Also, I noticed a mistake was made in the earlier chapters. Pls, Arin is Dash's girlfriend, not Jaden's. This would be corrected when the book is being edited. Sorry for the confusion...and the long wait!

This chapter is dedicated to @PricelessMasson_ for her amazing comments! Thank you!

Cissy was helping her mother prepare dinner when Lance called through her mom's phone.
"Hey, baby!" She said, beaming.

Cissy rolled her eyes. Someone needed to tell her mother that her so-called 'baby' was a twenty-five year old who wouldn't appreciate being called 'baby'.
When she heard her mom say, "Oh, come on. You're still my baby!" Cissy knew Lance had objected too.

She smiled.

Her smile widened when she realized she'd been smiling every second since Friday night.

Then she realized she didn't want to smile at all.

She was angry. Angry at Dominick.

Didn't he trust her enough to tell her what was going on with him?
What was going on with him?

That night, she hadn't slept a wink. While her friends had long slept, she'd laid awake thinking about that kiss that had left her feeling jittery. She had wondered if he was awake too. If he'd felt the things she'd felt during the course of the kiss and after.
Had he liked it? Had it meant something to him as it had to her? Or had it just been another game of dares after all?

And then, she had heard him whimper. Over and over. He'd muttered a few incoherent things and she had realized he was having a nightmare. She had moved to wake him but at that time, he was startled awake.
She'd seen him look afraid and helpless and all she had wanted to do at that moment was hug him and comfort him and tell him he was okay and safe.

But what had he done?

He'd brushed her off. Like she meant nothing!

Well, maybe she meant nothing to him after all, she thought as she felt tears well up in her eyes. If that wasn't the case, then why was he being cold to her? Had she done something wrong?
She tried to think back on all she'd said and done in the past two weeks and came up with no explanation for his behaviour.

Cissy sighed and jumped when she felt her mother nudge her.

"...even thinking about?"

Cissy blinked. Her mother must have been talking to her earlier. What was she saying?

"Lance wants to speak with you." Her mom said and gave her the phone.

Cissy smiled and took it.
"Hey, L. Miss me?" She asked grinning, all traces of sadness instantly wiped away. Yes, only Lance could do that.

And someone else.

She ignored that voice.

"You wish. I only called to remind you two of my graduation on Saturday. I need you to be there, you know."

Cissy rolled her eyes. "First, he says he doesn't miss me and then he says he needs me. Confused, big brother?"
She heard him laugh and she smiled.
