Hi, my name is Mary Layton, I had just finished school at Beaufort Community College. You know how we all have that one dream that seems like its totally impossible? Well that one dream of mine, I've had since I was 9. But that isn't important.. for now I guess. Before I started college I lived in Virginia, with my grandpa and grandma. It was less complicated there, my mom had pasted a few years back, but my dad was never in the picture. I always helped grandma at the B&B (Bed and Breakfast). She had a big Victorian house next door ( right down the road to) to the vet. Which is where my grandpa works, I've always wanted to be a doctor since my grandpa is a Vet, he is my role model through out my live. I work as a city doctor about 40 minutes away from town, I'm not a "full on doctor" I am a intern, (sort of, basically someone who does the doctors errands and then go gets the doctor after the kids/adults get a check up). I have a degree and went to school for 5 years! It's just the people in Beaufort, North Carolina like to call dibs since I was last here, so they did not sign the papers from my old job. I am glad that I never took off of work so, that I am able to take the rest of Christmas off. My grandparents try to get me out of the house and "find my self " or "that special someone" is basically what that is code for, but I know deep inside they need me to help with the B&B so grandpa can focus on his work. I have booked reservations for grandma and grandpa to a lovely dinner while I take care of the B&B. Its the 12 of December, and I am so proud to be back in Virginia, with the family. I live in a cozy medium sized log cabin just about 15 minutes away. But I mostly stay here if it's not booked, or you know there are just those kinda people you don't wanna "hang out" with. Once I took grandpa and grandma to dinner, I went to pick up some more decorations and something nice and to cook for the guests at the B&B. I am glad that grandma has gotten so close to most of the customers because that makes it easier for us to go into town and have some time to our selves and them to! Grandma has taught them everything they know from where the keys are, to which foods you can have to which you can't. Hopefully they are at peace in their rooms, so that I can happily cook alone with some Christmas music!
But as I pull into the driveway I notice that...
