I watched as Ashton blew out all his candles and made a wish.

I sat across him surrounded by people I didn't know.

They were all his friends from school and since I am two years younger we aren't in the same class, and we don't know the same people.

"All kids outside!" mrs. Irwin yelled. Everyone rushed outside, I was the last as usual.

I'm pretty chubby and really slow. I run as fast as I can but I make it outside miles behind everyone else.

"Hey bailey!" Ashton runs up to me. "I was wondering if you would like to spend the night? we can play with my new toys!" he says excitedly.

"Yeah!" I jump up and down.

Ashton literally towers over me. I have always been short.

I hate it.

I nuzzle into the soft sheets on Ashton's comfy bed.

"Bailey." he speaks threw the silence.

"Yes Ashton?" I answer.

"We're friends right?" he questions.

"No." I reply and he looks at me with worry clear on his face.

"What why?" he questions again.

"Because we can't be friends if we are already best friends." I answer honestly.
