Escaping the Unknown

Claws clashed against the stone corridor, running away from the angry dragon, race after her. "GET BACK HERE NOW STARFISH!" roared SeaWeed.

StarFish just ran ignoring the dragon behind 'Just keep going,' she thought 'I will be home, I will see my parents'

Then the dragon stopped and said, "Don’t you want to hear who your parents are." She just froze and looked back. "They are royal…" She had heard enough, she was royal, she was related to the King and Queen.

She ran off, leaving the dragon speechless, thinking she had not wanted to hear about her parents.

She had always only known her egg was stolen five years ago. She always thought that maybe she was from a low ranking family that couldn't look after there eggs. She'd never really thought about whether she even had brothers or sisters.

She always thought that she was to be kept against her will, in the small cave they called home, probably to become a slave. But she now knew that she had hatched for a greater purpose, to be Queen.

She flew off to the south to find her home, The Kingdom Of The Sea. She came down on the golden sand, irritating her scales, glancing out over the water, it was beautiful. She was home.

Leaping into the emerald sea, it was full of life. Her eyes wander, staring at everything, the corals, the fish swimming by, even to the annoying lobsters that kept poking her tail, suddenly her eyes set sights on a dragon.

'A real citizen of my future kingdom, he looked so strong and handsome,' she thought.

Swimming up to greet him, she signalled to go to the surface but he just floated there, flashing the stripes on his wings. 'It’s a test to see if I am a Sea Dragon' She thought flashing all her luminescent stripes over her body twice.

He swam up to her quickly claws outstretched. Thinking he was attacking her she swung her claws out cutting his snout.

She then swam up with him in hot pursuit. Emerging from the water they looked at each other he said, "Why did you just attack me I was only reacting to what you said…"

"I said nothing of the sort we underwater remembered flip-flop," StarFish said, with a hint of anger.

"A Sea Dragon that does not know ilumiun. Not possible, who are you, imposter." He replied, angrily.

After she had explained what had happened, he agreed to show her to the kingdom, after telling her his name. When they came to a pile of sunken rocks, FlassFlood reached forwards brushing apart some of the seaweed, revealing the entrance.

They swam in, looking around she saw dragons everywhere, happily lazing around, reading off slates and tucking into fish.

The King and Queen flew down, seeing their only survived daughter, they cried tears of happiness. Then they saw FlassFlood telling him to leave, but StarFish butted in asking, "Why does he have to leave?"

The Queens only reply was, "Their bloodline is tinted with betrayal."

Tuna came to teach her illumine. She was told to copy the flashes that he did with her stripes. This went on for what seemed like an age when they exited the pool.

"What did we just say?” She asked.

"We just recited the first chapter of the book of life," Tuna said.

"This isn't helping," StarFish snarled, swimming out to a cave on the beach.

She sat there grumbling to herself when a dragon walked in, it was FlassFlood. They talked for a bit when he mentioned that he could teach her illumine.

She nodded, he then flashed his wing strips three times and said, "Say this to Tuna next time you see him."

"What did I just call him," StarFish said, coping him.

"A flip-flop, my new favourite insult thanks to you," he said.

"This lesson is not much better than his!" She stated.

"Ok, now I am insulted. Now you better get ready for a monster of a lesson. They went on for a while showing how to say different things, like hello, goodbye, danger, ok, I don't know ilumiun, ext. 

When she looked outside, she saw that it was getting late, swinging round, she said, “I better get going, mother will be worried."

When she went back to the kingdom, she was directed to an underwater bedroom, where her Mum and Dad were. “StarFish did you enjoy your first day," Dad said.

“Yes,” she answered.

They slept the night there, laying peacefully on some seaweed mattresses, waking up to the sounds of dragons, standing waiting for the missing princes to emerge. When she did walk out, there was a cry of happiness, for the family had been reunited.

A while later, her mother said to her, “You should probably start thinking of who you want to marry."

She sat there thinking to herself, the only dragon she saw as a friend was FlassFlood but would mother they approve of such an arrangement.

“Mum, Dad would I be allowed to marry FlassFlood, he is the only dragon that I would ever be with."

The King and Queen looked at each other and nodded, “Yes you may if he is your true love,” Mum said.

She ran off to say the good news to FlassFlood. When she had found him she said the news.

He cried, “Then we should make it official.”

They swam back to the kingdom, but on the way FlassFlood told StarFish to swim on, he went to pick the engagement ring. When she reached her mum and dad FlassFlood emerged from the pool.

Landing next to her he got down on his knees and proudly said, “StarFish will you marry me?”

“YES!! I will FlassFlood!” StarFish screamed.

They then went on to plan the wedding leaving the King and Queen behind.

“Looks like our plan has finally begun,” the Queen said.

“Yes, soon we will be raised to the top.” The king said with a growl.

They stood looking at each other with an evil smirk growing on their faces.
