There were many cases of people in the hospital for various reason. The realms of life & death were the most common reasons. In this case, Choi Bitna; a girl diagnosed with breast cancer. She was between those realms; neither alive nor dead.

She had been staying in the hospital for months. She herself was surprised she had not died of boredom before she died from her illness. Her daily routine always began with casual strolls in the garden as she dragged her IV cart along with her. She watched people have fun; mocking her existence of how people could enjoy life when they were about to die. She always thought;

Why spend time with people when you know you're going to die anyways?

When you die and leave them with happy memories, it will forever haunt and hurt them.

Why choose to be selfish and hurt the other person this way?

Bitna kept these thoughts to herself because if she voiced it out it would only cause more unnecessary treatment. Why would she want to take more medicine? She was already getting a high dosage of drugs for her cancer treatment.

Bitna never had many people visit her during her stay at the hospital. Occasionally her family stopped by to pay their due respect and condolences because of her medical condition. Occasionally leaving packages of food for her to eat because hospital food was absolutely horrible. She never held much thought or consideration towards their actions. She knew it was just out of sympathy and obligation , they never really cared about her.

After a few days she had began to notice a new patient; a brown-haired male wheeling himself around the hospital here and there. She had began to watch him from afar and then realized that he was staying in the room that was a few rooms down the hall of where her room was.
Something about him made him intriguing. She deemed he looked like he needed a friend; contrary to her previous thoughts before. She shrugged it off knowing he would probably forget all about her if she didn't survive her surgery. As much as it would be hypocritical of her principles; it didn't hurt to try being friends with him.

She stood in front of him; blocking him from wheeling forward. She had a smile plastered across her face. Her hair pulled into a ponytail. She wore a white hospital gown that seemed to make her pale complexion look even more ghost-like. And beside her she had an IV cart with an IV injected into her arm. The boy looked up at Bitna. His dull eyes meeting her's. The two exchanged no words as she extended her hand out to him.

"Hi, I'm Choi Bitna" She said in a lilting tone.

The boy simply stared at her; eyes widen with shock as if he had never met another human being in his entire life. Bitna was slightly irritated by his silent and speechless reaction to her actions. Her smile quickly dissipating into a frown and her thoughts running wild inside her mind.

Wow, I didn't know I was this bad at communicating and approaching people.

Is he mute? Disabled? Or does he have a lose screw worse than mines.

She observed his bewildered reaction for a couple silent moments until he finally managed to look back up and grab her hand.

"Hi," he muttered softly to her. Is eyes then quickly darted down to glance at the floor his head moving along to where he was looking.

They both withdrew from each other's grasp.

Bitna's smiled then formed yet again, continuing her ministrations of trying to make small talk with the man.

"What's your name?"

"Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook."

"Nice to meet you, Jungkook."

"Mhm."

Bitna could feel her front row of teeth grinding against her bottom set of teeth. She wasn't pleased at how quickly Jungkook dismissed her conversation that she had tried very hard to muster.

"Sorry, could you move aside so I can get through?"

Bitna panicked a bit, bowing to him in apology.

"O-oh, sorry." She mumbled before she quickly grabbed the handle of the IV cart and moved it aside as she moved herself from blocking him.

"Thanks.."

That was the last thing he said before he then began wheeling himself forward; to wherever he was going. Bitna simply watched as he got farther away. The farther he got, the smaller his figure seemed to be. He made a turn and his figure vanished as the wall seemed to engulf his entire being.

That was when their lives restarted.

The next day, Bitna ventured forth to go meet him at the same hallway he would always go through. She had covertly watched him the entire day after he left her hanging like that. She had figured out where he would like to spend his time most at and what time he usually comes out.

She waited silently. Her back leaned against the wall as she had her IV by her side. The clock that was on the wall kept ticking. And then the sounds of a wheel chair being motioned echoed through the hallway. She immediately stood up straight, pushing her bangs behind her ear and turned to face the direction Jungkook came from.

The same brown-haired Jungkook appeared. His face had become slightly more pale; but his condition overall seemed healthy. He seemed to have lost a considerable amount of weight from just one day, her eyebrows furrowed at how she noticed all this.

"Hey" Bitna called out to him.

He glanced up to meet her eyes. A smile finally formed on his lips; it seemed forced. He was different from yesterday, but she paid no attention to it. She disregarded it as he was annoyed of seeing her again today.

"Oh, Hi. Bitna was it?"

She raised an eyebrow when he remembered her name.

"Yes, Jungkook."

He wheeled himself closer to her and came to a halt as he was finally next to her.

"Would you like to join me outside for a stroll?"

She quickly nodded her head; a beaming smile plastered across her face.
