*How was your weekend?
*****
************"Inside quick, its beginning to rain,"
Mom rushes me as I throw my bag into the boot. I close the door, and little droplets fall onto my puffed out hair and my curls cripple up. I jump into the car and mom drives. I lean my head against the cold class watching the moving cars. The hooting and beeping of vehicle's and bells made my ears boil up from sensitivity. I just wished I was in Leo's car, could have found a better shortcut away from this havoc.
"Sam, gave me a call lastnight. He said you went missing, you know you gave me a heart attack, I couldn't even sleep. Explain yourself young women."
"Mama, I'm sorry, I got lost and my battery died,"
I knew she would be upset ever since she entered the house she looked stressed out. I did not even want to bother on asking how the meeting went because surely it went terrible because the 'Howards were attending it'. At least she came home and I was ready for her with all my bags waiting. She did not even take her favourite muffins.
"Where did you sleep Elizabeth Ocean's?"
"At a friends house,"
"What friend?!!"
"M,Maya?"
I mutter. Sorry Maya, your name was the first to pop up. I lied. I have been lieing too much now to my mother, she was eventually beginning to notice. Worst part, I'm so bad at lieing I feel sorry for my arse.
"No, no, do not lie to me. You were at a Leo's, what were you doing with a Leo Hover?"
My heart rushes pumping blood to fast for my liking. I gasp for air and squeeze tight my phone. She looks at me through the mirror multitasking. Texting on her phone and looking ahead of her and at mirror. Her face was straight it made me think of the same face I got from Leo. I really am a menace. What to say, what to say..
"I'm sorry mom, I got lost, I bumped into Leo, since I knew him and we always worked together on the Art project. He offered to take me home, but I did not know where I lived, so I , I slept the night in,"
"So, no, I hope you did not.."
"No, Mom, no, we did not,"
Her expression turns soft. Sorry for lieing to your face mom. I really am but I'm protecting our family restrictions. She was satisfied with my response, although she still had that straight face on, I wanted to make her forget, but I couldn't. Maybe trying isn't bad...
"How did the, pitch thing go,"
"Terrible!, the Howards suddenly showed empathy, almost regret, like they were weaker. Tessa even tried talking to me but, I distanced myself, they are planning something. I know it, I hate their gut's, faking li,"
Shouldn't have asked. This seat is really uncomfortable, the more I hear from her, the more I become nervous. She even forgot that the Leo she was asking about earlier was the same Leo that she mixed his last name up with a Hovers. Same Leo that I'm attending an art competition with, apparently. Im so close, she can find out anytime soon, I'm skating on thin ice, no really I have been skating on thin ice. I know I'm not supposed to be with him no talk to him, although I do not understand how this Betrayal, War, and Hatered began against the Howards. I want to know soon, but I do not want to make it obvious I knew about them.
"Just hope they do not know I have a daughter here, nor know that we just moved in here..."
"We are, we are here mom,"
Fortunately we made it to school, and the cars had dissapeared from the road. All I could see was the forestings that located I was so close to school. She stops her talk and I exhale in relief.
Finally!!
