"-up Rebecca. Wake up."

The brunette groaned and turned in her bed trying to get away from the insistent voice and hand that was trying to pull her out of her sleep. Linda smacked Rebecca in the head with a paperback book.

"Come on. My aunt made breakfast."

Rebecca groaned and crawled out of her bed. It took her 5 seconds to remember why she was at her friend's house.

"You didn't. . .uh. . .tell her right?"

Linda rolled her eyes and just shook her head.

"Am I that unable to be trusted?" Rebecca scratched her head sheepishly. Not that she doubted her or anything! Linda just smiled and pulled Rebecca down the stairs.

"Oh yea, I don't know about your mom's reaction though. . .She may have asked for a search party, I heard helicopters. . ." Linda trailed off letting Rebecca process the information.

Rebecca nodded half-heartily thinking that Linda was just trying to get her home until Linda got to the part about the helicopter. "Wait, are you serious?!" Rebecca practically screamed as she tugged on Linda's shoulders. Linda nodded her head nervously. "Nooo. . ." Rebecca groaned and combed her hair through her brown hair. She bit her lips and almost found herself crying. Sure she did run but she didn't want this kind of result.

Linda untangled herself from Rebecca's hold and just rolled her eyes at the girl's reaction. Seriously, her friend really gets on her nerves sometimes.

"Stop the drama. Lets go eat."

Rebecca grinned sheepishly and followed her to the kitchen where there were fresh pancakes on a plate. She greeted Linda's mother politely before going to brush her teeth and wash her hands.

She was scared at the aspect that if her mom found out what she was doing, but at the living in suspense and not knowing what would happen. The truth was that she was safe at her friend's house. Then again, maybe the helicopter thing was just an excuse used by Linda to scare her.

She grinned before spitting out the foams in her mouth and quickly rinsing her mouth before brushing again.

The letter, now that she thought about it, was weird. If it was like a normal kidnapping letter than it would probably be cut out of magazine letters. The letters in the message was carefully written- it seemed- and the penmanship of the person seemed overwhelmingly good. The letters had little tails to them too- like the k's and the h's and so on.

"Hey, are you brushing your teeth or using the bathroom?" Linda's loud voice blasted through the hall. Rebecca ducked her head and quickly spit out the remaining foams and rinsing it out.

"Comin'!" 'Gosh, did you really have to embarrass me like that?!?' Rebecca quickly rinsed her toothbrush and zipped to the kitchen. She smiled sheepishly before taking a seat. She picked up her fork and embedded it in the uttermost top pancake after drenching it with maple syrup.

"What are you girls planning to do afterwards?"

"I dunno, but maybe we will go out to the field." Linda casually responded. Rebecca nodded her head a little when Linda's mother looked at her.

"Well, be careful out there."

"We will."

Linda signaled to Rebecca by looking her in the face and signaled her to quickly hurry up with breakfast. Rebecca nodded and quickly started chewing the pancakes and finishing it up.

"Its so hot!" Rebecca complained as she held up her right hand to shield from the sun. Linda tsk-ed from the side.
