Starting To Understand

     I walked out of Tom's room and went outside. As I did this, Tom seemed very confused because I just walked out without saying anything. I walked around until I got lost and just stood in one spot waiting for something to happen. After a while of me looking around I heard a voice behind me. "Are you waiting for me?" "Huh . . . yeah!" Standing behind me was Onyx. "Hmm, why?" "I need to ask you questions." "Ok."

"What is it that you want to ask me?" "When you said that you weren't really real but at the same time you were real . . . what did you mean by that?" "Hmm how do I explain this in a way where you can understand?" "In any way!" "Ok, I'm real because I exist and everyone can see me." "Really?" "What, you can understand me right?" "Yes! Uhg . . . wait, did you say everyone can see you?" "Yeah, did I explain it in a complicated way?" "No!"

"I need you to come with me." "Ok, where're we going." "To someone." "What, your boyfriend~?" "I'm not in a relationship with anyone." "Come on you know you and that guy in the blue hoodie like each other?" "Yes we like each other but in different ways." "Why can't you make things fun?" "I don't know, why?"

"Do you even know where you're going?" " . . . . no." "Where do you want to go?" "To Matt, Edd, and Tom's apartment's." "Ok, this way to your boyfriend!" "You know I really hate you!" "Yup!"

"Here we are!" "Ok let's get inside." "Ok now we go up these stairs and-" "I know where to go now so shut the hell up!" "Fine, you could've said it in a nicer way." "I know, but I didn't." I walked up the stairs and to their apartments. I walked up to Tom's door and went inside. I stood in front of Tom to get his attention. "Hey Tom, notice anything weird?" "Um . . . who is that?" "Good you can see him, this is Onyx the person we've been talking about."

"You guys have been talking about me?!" "Yeah." I said. "So what are you?" Tom said. "I'm a person." "No that's not what I mean!" "Ok then what did you mean?" "What exactly are you?" "I'm a soul."

"WAIT, WHAT?!" "Did I say something wrong?" "No, you're lying." "Ok, you can think that." "No he's telling the truth, you can tell by the way he's talking." Tom said. "Ok, I'll believe you." I walked up to Onyx and inspected him, then I started to ask questions. "Hmmm, what gender are you?" "I'm not going to tell?" "I thought he was a guy." Tom exclaimed. "Yeah, I thought the same thing." "Next question." Onyx said.

"Ok, when you said that you're a soul . . . what exactly did you mean by that?" "I meant that I am a soul." "No, that's not what he wants to hear!" Tom yelled. "Ok ok, I'm almost like a ghost but I'm more than that and I am the part that has more characteristics and emotion." "Really?" I said. "Yeah, just search it up." "Really?" I said in a non excited tone. "Tom, do you have your phone?" "Yeah." "Let me use it." "Ok." He handed me his phone and I checked to make sure Onyx wasn't lying. He was correct but some of the information that he said was missing. I turned towards him.

"Ok, you were telling the truth." "Of course." "So, why are you always helping me?" "He's been helping you?" Tom asked. "Yeah, he helped me escape when you guys kidnapped me." "We didn't kidnap you!" "Then what would you say that you did?" "Um, well we . . . brought you to our place and tied you up because we thought you were going to attack us." "So then why did you bring me to your place in the first place?" "Uh, let's just get back to talking about Onyx!" "Fine."

     I looked at where Onyx was and he was gone. "Great, you got me distracted and now he's gone!" "I DISTRACTED YOU!" Tom yelled in an angrily tone. "YES, YOU DID!" "Uhg, let's just stop arguing." "Fine." "You don't hate me, right?" "Of course I do." "Wait, no please forgive me!" "Fine, I was just kidding, I still like you." I walked up to Tom and hugged him, then we walked out of his room.
