Chapter 8: Where the heck is he?

Hola people. You asked, I answered. And looky it's only been a day since I got the required votes and it hasn't even been a month yet... Any high fives? Anyone. No? Okay. Anyways, enjoy. ***Carax's p.o.v***

Walking out of the dark portal hastily shielding her eyes from the evil rays from the sun. Yes, Evil! They just had to make her eyes sore, without her ever doing anything to them, but they just had to assert their dominance like that. Turning to look where Axel had brought them, she had to repress an awe from spewing from her mouth. They were at the top of the bank tower, and Axel was sitting on the edge with his legs dangling. He had his back to her, and she didn't know whether or not to go sit with him. This was his, Roxas, and Xion's place and she didn't want to intrude.

That would just seem so wrong to her. This was like a national monument or something; you just couldn't go and walk all around on it. It would be like going into the President's bedroom, or going to 10 Downing Street and tap dancing down the hallway. It was just something you didn't do. This place meant so much to Axel, so how could she possibly go here. To his special spot.

It was different from when Demyx offered her to hang out with him at his special spot. This one she actually cared about from the games. So much happened here in the games, and it just killed her on the inside.

Right before she could turn the corner so she could walk away, Axel turned around and motioned her closer. "C'mon newbie. "Axel said, patting the ledge next to him. The look crossing his face, showed that he wasn't as carefree as his voice portrayed him as being. He had definitely been thinking about his last time he was sitting up here.

Nodding, Carax walked over and sat down, throwing her legs over the edge. Ok, not looking down, not looking down. Yes, she was a nobody now and she knew that fear was an emotion, but she still wasn't tempting a look down. Just because she couldn't fear it doesn't mean that she still couldn't flip out, or fall off.

So here she was, sitting on the famous clock tower. This place was so beautiful. The games didn't give it half as much credit as they should have. You could see the beach from here, and the water was blue. As if they were at one of the beaches they're always advertising for on TV or something. But you could also see the town from here, and everything looked so small even though it so wasn't. That town was huge.

This rooftop was also a sad place. Her favorite Organization duo was created up here, and then the Xion storyline could make anyone cry. This rooftop had been the place of lies and goodbyes, but it had also been the place of new friendships and silly bonding over ice cream of all things. It still felt wrong being up here pretending as if she didn't know what had gone up here. It was almost as if she was lying to Axel without even having to say anything to him at all.

"I used to come here with my friends. They...used to be in the Organization. "She heard Axel say. Nodding, she looked out over the town's skyline. She already knew what had happened, what with Xion's death scene being the saddest part of 358 1/2 days, and Roxas leaving. Wait; if they were right after Kingdom Hearts 2 then it couldn't be longer than a year since Roxas left and not that much longer for Xion. Poor Axel.

"Used to be? Did they leave?" Carax asked playing the perfect role of new girl who knows nothing. She knew that thinking about this was hurting him, but if he didn't want to talk about it ,he wouldn't have brought it up, right? Maybe he just needed someone to talk to. This had to be hard for him, to lost both of them so close to each other, and then expected to get over and go work for the Organization. Sure, it could help you get your mind off of it but for how long? Sooner or later, it would catch up on you even with having no emotions.
