The rain was pouring down, slowly ridding me of the red riddicule. The one time where red is not a colour I like. The lightning cracked and the thunder boomed as the dark clouds circled the sky. I started to run down my street when I heard the THWAP of an arrow pierce the rough skin of the tree on the other side of the road. I looked over at the empty row or deserted houses, one of them with no window.

A guy in a blue shirt holding a bow and red arrows was staring the crap out of me. My heart started to race, my mind started to fuzz. My instinct was to run over to him and attack him, but this guy is different. I could feel something more powerful than the arrows.

I ran towards my house, slowly picking up the pace as my attacker followed me in the shadows. My breath was making mist as I turned the corner and tripped on the gutter. I fell, my books and bag covering my fall. I closed my eyes and opened again, excpecting to see the murderer but instead- I saw Ben.

"Need a hand?" His arm stretched out as his hand floated infront of me. I grabbed his hand and pulled myself up, looking around for the stalker. Nobody could be seen.

"Why don't you have an umbrella?" He asked me, gazing at my chest. I held my books in my arms not letting him look. Rude jerk.

"Well thank you for helping, but I have someone following me so I better run." I pushed past his shoulder and looked at the ground. I could hear his footsteps behind me. I twisted around quickly as he accidetnally bumped into me.

"I thought I said I already had someone following me, I don't need another one." His eyes seemed to shimmer in the rain. He is so cute, I mean seriously, look at him! No, don't do this. You know he is a jerk.

"I'm going the same way, plus if you have someone following you I better make sure you get home safely. But I do think you can keep care of yourself." He smiled, showing his brililant white teeth. No don't fall for it, you remember last time. It always end in your pain.

"Whatever. Just don't try and sass me, I always win." I turned back around and took two steps before he opened his mouth again.

"Is that a challenge?" I stood there for a minute, took a deep breath in and smiled before turning back to face him. I walked until our faces where inches away from each others, until the tip of my nose ws about to touch his.

"Game on, Ben 10." I had to smile at my own reference.

"Do your eyes always sparkle like that in the rain?" My smile had vanished. Is this jerk actually hitting on me? For REAL! I turned on my heel and kept walking, glancing the streets for the man who was stalking me- not Ben the other one, and of course, Ben followed me like a dog.

"Home at last!" I pushed open the double wooden doors to our house, ripping off my dripping jumper and throwing it in a basket before turning back to face the door. Sigh, Ben.

"Come in Ben, you should probably get a new change of clothes so you don't get sick. Our maid Vel will help you with your needs, just tell me when your leaving okay?" I knocked on a door under the staircase, Vel emerging shortly after.

"Is there anything I can do for you, Mad'am?" Vel was dressed neatly in her long black dress, head piece and black shoes with white socks. I hate that dad makes her dress up, she should be comfortable not ready for a funeral or something.

"Vel could you please find some warm clothes for Ben here? Then just send him to my room when he's done." I touched the cold railing of the staircase with my hand, running up the stairs to Cindy's room.

"Kyra!" I haulted mid-step, turning to see Ben following me up the stairs.

"Yes?" I was bursting to see Cindy, I was home late and I promised I would watch Adventure Time with her. She's so fragile now, and I feel bad for being late. That's partly my fault...but moslty Ben's.

"Can I uhm.." I looked at his eyes, he seemed nervous to ask me whatever it is. I stood there, tapping my foot against a white railing.

"Never mind. I will see you later okay?" He headed back down the stairs and went back out the door, walking down the street.

I wonder what he was going to say? Is he homeless? Parentless? No he was probably asking if he could get some real quick.  Ugh boys are the worst. I rushed back up the stairs and into Cindy's room, noticing that she wasn't there.

"Cindy? Where are you?" Val quietly walked up the stairs, carrying a tray with a bowl of tomato soup and a spoon.

"Val have you seen Cindy?" A panick came over me. What if she ran away again?

"Yes Mad'am, Cindy is in your room watching cartoons. She has a mild cold so I brought her some soup. Is it okay to have food in your room mad'am?"

I sighed, taking a deep breath in.

"Yeah it's okay, I can take it for you. I need to talk to Cindy, to see her." I took the tray from Vel gently and pushed open my door with my foot. Cindy quickly turned, her face lighting up when she saw me. I love that I make her smile, it's the most beautfil smile.

"Hey Kyra, I was so worried about you!" My smile grew quickly, swiping across my whole face. Colour quickly came back to my cheeks and all my worries went away - Wayne.

He lifted himself off the floor and out of his blanket, took the trays from my hand and layed it on the bed. I looked into his eyes, his warming and caring eyes. He had a huge bruise surrounding his left eye, a cut along his cheekbone.

"What happened to you!" I threw my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly, pressing my face into the crook of his neck. I felt his warm arms wrap around my waist, pulling me in closer to him.

"Some creeper was at the door asking for you, when I asked why he smiled and pulled out a knife. Cindy was behind me so I slammed the door close and fought with him before he ran off." A tear fell from my eye, landing on his shoulder. Who was it? Why did they want me?
