A Christmas Carol

Cup of Cocoa

Remus takes a deep breath then closes his eyes enjoying the moment. His mug of cocoa warms his hands and the log in the fireplace was crackling and popping as it burned.

"Is everything alright?"

Remus opens his eyes and looks over at Tonks with a smile. She was wrapped up in a blanket with him, cradling her own cup of cocoa in her hands. "Everything is perfect. I'm just savoring the moment." He assures her.

"Well savor the chocolate too before it gets cold." She giggles as she takes a sip from her mug.

Now it was Remus's turn to laugh. Tonks sat there staring at him, vibrant pink hair, warm brown eyes, and a dab of whipped cream on her nose.

"What?"

Remus continues to laugh and with a gentle flick of his finger wipes the whipped cream off her nose and puts it into his mouth. "You're so sweet." He smirks.

Tonks laughs then leans over and kisses him on the cheek. "My husband the joker."

Remus puts an arm around her, pulling her closer to him, and kisses the top of her head. "My wife." He smiles happily.

He had a wife. The whole idea of it was still unbelievable to him. Never had he ever imagined that he would be married. Married and so loved by someone. The thought widens his smile. This was so different from anything he thought he would ever experience. This Christmas so different from Christmases past.

"You have that look again sweetheart." She says with a tone of concern. "It's a happy smile but your eyes look so sad."

"I am happy love. Don't worry. I'm just...thinking."
