Taking Charge

One month later.......

Damian sighed once again staring out the window as Raven did the same. "He hasn't called...." Damian said as Raven shook her head sadly. "No...hopefully he's okay." She said as Damian smiled at her.

"Of course he's okay. This is Batman we're talking about." He responded as their T-coms light up. Damian frowned and opened his.

"Hello?" He said as static came through. They looked at each other frowning as the screen cleared. "Father! Pennyworth, come here!" He yelled as they rushed in.

Bruce laughed and wiped the dirt off his face. "Hey guys. Sorry I haven't called. I've been trying to figure out where Leo exactly is...and he's in the underworld."

"The underworld? How are you gonna get there?" Dick asked as Bruce smirked. "I have my ways. I won't be in contact for awhile so I'll try as best as I can since there's no signal where I'm going." He said pulling his hair up.

"Well, be careful. Don't do anything crazy." Wally said as Bruce smiled. "I'll try not to. I'll talk to you later okay?" He said as they nodded. "Love you and stay safe." He said as the T-com went blank.

Alfred nodded and looked at Dick. "Well, Master Dick, what shall you do now?" He asked as Dick shrugged. "I guess we'll have to move on with life and from time to time check our coms." He said as Raven pouted.

"I miss him already..." She said as Damian sighed. "She's right. Its not the same without Father here." He agreed as the others murmured in agreement. "I say we go find them." Bumble Bee said as they smiled.

"No, B needs to do this on his own. That's exactly why he didn't take anyone." Dick said as they all looked down sadly. "Hey, he'll be back soon. I promise he will." Dick said as Jason chuckled.

"You do know that you're going to have to do better than a promise right? These kids are stubborn." He said as Dick glared at him.

"I know Jay. Okay so let's go out to eat. I know I can't bring B back, but let's at least try this without him." he said as they sighed.

"Grayson is right, Father will be okay. Even though we'll miss him, he'll be back before we know it." Damian said as they smiled.

"Where to leader?" Garfield asked as Dick grabbed his keys. "We're going to the mall then out to eat." He said as Alfred smiled. "Very good Master Dick." He said as Dick smiled.

"Let's go then." Kori said grabbing Dick's hand and dragging him towards the elevator. "Wait for us guys!" Wally said pulling his shoes on quickly.

Two weeks later.........

"Hood, take the roof with Robin and Bumble. Kori, take Raven and Kid Flash in the east building. Garfield and Conner are with me. When we get inside, don't attack unless I say so." Nightwing ordered as they nodded disappearing.

They were on a mission trying to find the children that had been kidnapped during a magic show. Nightwing had found a lead which lead them to their current location.

Nightwing looked as they heard crying and mumbles. "Conner, what do you see?" Nightwing asked as Conner frowned. "A whole bunch of weapons and twenty thugs. There's a lot of cages with kids in them." He responded as they heard Robin growl.

"Whoever did this is sick." They heard him say as Nightwing sighed. "Let's move in. Be careful." He said as they all jumped in and Nightwing threw smoke bombs as they began to fight.

"Garfield! Cover Kori while she freeing the children!" Nightwing said kicking a thug as Garfield turned into a T-rex and roared scaring half the thugs away.

Kori quickly let the children free as Raven put up a forcefield around them to keep them safe. Robin took out the last thug and put a sword to his neck.

"Who are you working for!" He growled as the guy shook. "I was working with Doctor Light! Don't hurt me." He said as Robin knocked him out.

"Bravo heroes. Now let's play." Dr. Light said as they all fought him and he lost. Nightwing smiled at them panting as they heard the cops near.

"Let's go!" He said as they all slipped out the window with all the children safely outside. They returned to the tower and Nightwing smiled.

"B would be so proud of you guys just like me and Kori are." He said as Raven smiled at Damian who smirked. "And he would be proud of you also Grayson for taking charge and leading us correctly." Damian said as Dick smiled pulling off his mask.

"Thanks Dami, that means a lot." He responded as he looked at Kori. "Let's go out to eat." He said as they all smiled. Dick smiled looking out the window.

'Thanks Bruce....' He thought as he continued towards the elevator where his hungry teammates were.
