It was 2:30 in the morning when Patrick woke up, he sighed, he hasn't been able to get a proper nights sleep for days.

Patrick looks left at his boyfriends sleeping figure next to him... Pete, Pete is the reason Patrick can't sleep, why can't Patrick sleep because of Pete you might ask? Well Pete's been acting a lot different lately, he's been coming home late, yelling at Patrick for no reason, he gets drunk a lot more and he's been extremely private about stuff.

Patrick is worried Pete's gonna leave him, they've been together for two, almost three years. Patrick loves Pete a lot and doesn't ever want to lose him, he wants to grow old with him, marry him and adopt children with him, though Patrick does know that's an unrealistic thing to want, he doesn't care.

Patrick just doesn't know what to do anymore, he wants to confront Pete about the way he's changing, but he just can't, he doesn't want Pete to get mad at him and yell at him, he doesn't like being yelled at.. It scares him, especially when it's Pete that's yelling at him..

Patrick has had a bad past with boyfriends. drunks, abusers, addicts, most of his boyfriends have been terrible. Patrick was never really good at telling good from bad, growing up in an abusive family made him feel like that was what's normal. He was always confused when he saw happy couples walking down the street, "why can't I have a relationship like that? Is that normal? I want to be happy too, why can't I be happy?" were questions he'd always ask himself when seeing them.

After lots of bad boyfriends he found Pete, Pete was different, he didn't wanna hurt Patrick, he wanted to protect him, he wanted to keep him from any possible danger. That was, at the beginning of their relationship, things are changing now, Pete doesn't seem to protect him like he used to. Like the other day for example, Patrick came home crying because people were picking on him, calling him names, stuff like that. Now normally the old Pete would have threatened to kill those assholes, cuddled with Patrick, and put a movie on to cheer him up, but when Patrick told Pete what happened, Pete just brushed it off with, "things happen."

Patrick's not sure how much more of this he can take. He's been thinking of breaking up with Pete, but he doesn't want to, he just doesn't wanna get hurt again..
