Lilly's POV
I'm 24 now and unemployed. I know what you're thinking.
'But Lillyyyyy, what happened after the court trial? Who went where? Are you back with Yousef? Where's Lauren now? Where did Esme go?
But there will be time in my tale to answer you're questions but as for now, I shall resume.

"Hey babe" I heard his voice booming through the house and I smiled. He was doing some work at home so I knew he'd be here.
"Hey" I dragged out and went into to family room where I found his laptop on his lap. I smiled and gave his a quick kiss on the lips before throwing myself into the couch.
"How did it go?" He smiled and I rolled my eyes.
"Didn't you get my text?" He shakes his head and I sit up, kneeling next to him. Yousef shook his head and grabbed his phone.
He checked the message and sighed.
"I don't even know where these are coming from" I say in frustration.
I was sick of it. Every time a new opportunity popped up, there was someone or something that stopped me from achieving it.
Like the ONE court session.
"Babe don't give up" He closes his laptop before I could move any closer and faces me. His eyes stare at mine as continues to speak.
"This thing or whatever it is, will stop. Trust me. And anyways, you've been through way worse"
"What's worse then being unemployed and not having enough money because this new experiment that you're trying to do ain't cutting it for the head scientist. Huh?" I look at him and he shrugs, totally giving up on his 'pick me up' speech.
I roll my eyes as I reach for my phone from my bag and check my socials. I click on Facebook and see timelines.
Timelines of happy people.
I see that one cousin of mine is having a child in her huge house and her millionaire husband. I stare at her posts. How does she do it?
People don't notice that I'm trying to be better. My parents have just accepted that I'm going to fail in life and they don't bother contacting me because all I bring is bad news.
All I ever bring is bad news.
