Chapter 1: We're Gonna Be Alright

I heard the doorbell ring. My heart skipped a beat. Hayley's here! I opened the door and saw my little H-bomb with newly dyed orange hair and her beautiful green eyes. But she looked tired and like she was crying recently. I wouldn't blame hers since Zac and Josh left our band just 2 weeks ago. I just can't see Hayley upset.

Hayley and I smiled at each other as I opened the door.

"Hey", her beautiful voice said, "Ready to go?"

"Yeah, let me just get my coat" I said.

I grabbed my coat and walked with Hayley to her car, Miss Anne. We got in and she drove us to our favorite restaurant in Nashville.

The car ride was silent for a few minutes. I looked over at Hayley. She's probably thinking about Josh again, I thought. I sighed trying to think of something to say to get him off of her mind.

"So, uh, when do rehearsals start for the South America tour?" I asked.

Hayley jolted away from her thoughts, "Oh, um, yeah, South America. Uh, well, Jeremy's coming back from England this weekend, so probably next week." she said.

"Alright, well when Jerm gets back, we should rent out a rehearsal space together" I suggested

Hayley nodded, "Yeah, totally"

Hayley seemed more like herself at the restaurant. Must be this amazing food. We kept the conversation casual, avoiding what we should really be talking about: our band's future. What if she thinks Jeremy and I are gonna leave her like Josh and Zac?

After dinner, we got back in the car and Hayley drove me home. The car ride was just as silent and awkward as before.

We got to my house and without looking at me said, "Alright, we're here."

I unbuckled my seat belt and was about to open the door, but I stopped myself. I looked at Hayley. She was trying to hold in her tears.

"You know, I'm not going anywhere" I said, "I still have more to do in Paramore"

Hayley finally looked at me, but didn't respond. Tears were dripping down her face. She leaned over and hugged me tight and cried into my chest. I hugged her back and hoped she would never let go.

She let go and sniffled as she said, "Alright, well, uh, I guess I'll see you later, Tay"

"Bye Hayles" I said as I stepped out of the car.

Just as I was about to close the door, I saw Hayley wipe her eyes and heard her whisper to herself, "We're gonna be alright"

I closed the car door and walked up to my house. I sighed the biggest sigh of relief.

We're gonna be alright.
