Very early on December 19th, Leta gets a call from the hospital. The mother of their new baby was in labor. Leta was told to sit tight and would be called if they needed or wanted her and Greg. Right now it would just be a lot of waiting. So, Leta woke Greg up to let him know what was going on and that they would go back to sleep. When morning came, they would tell Chad and Avery but keep it from Lydia Kate because they knew she wouldn't get anything done today. She'd want to see the baby, and with the baby not even born yet, they can't do that.
They had hoped for a quick labor, but it wasn't until the next day that there was any real progress. She was pushing now, and that prompted the hospital to call Leta and let her know. That way they can get everything together and start preparing. Thankfully Lydia Kate had gone over to her brother Chad's house for the day to do some Christmas shopping for their parents, so it made it easy for Leta and Greg, not having to try and keep a secret from Lydia Kate as they took her over to Chad's house.
Noel (No-Ull) Aleks Bit
December 20th 10:57 AM

He was beautiful. His full head of gorgeous dark brown hair was Leta's favorite thing. When the baby came out the mom wanted him away as soon as she could. She didn't even want to see him. It's sad, but that was more helpful for the new family. Sometimes the baby comes out, and the mom wants to keep it, so the new family is devastated. Not this time. Everything went as smooth as it possibly could. Noel just had to be checked out, and he could go home. Thankfully he had nothing major like Lydia Kate. They could take a break if you will. Once the baby could go home, the two adults drive to Chad's house so they can surprise them. They couldn't wait to see what Lydia Kate thought of her new baby brother.
Arriving at the house, they get the baby carrier out and walk up to the front door. None of them knew that they would be coming this afternoon. It was going to be an awesome surprise. Leta just knew that Lydia Kate would be so excited and over the moon. She'd been wanting this for about a year now. Ringing the doorbell, Leta steps back a bit in case Avery comes to the door, and she needs room to get around.
"Coming!" A female voice is heard as they wait. Moments later, Avery is at the front door with her mouth agape.
"Chad, honey, you and LK clean up we have guests!" She yells, knowing they had been wrapping Christmas gifts for the two adults and the baby standing at the door.
Not knowing what is going on, Chad has his sister quickly help them clean up and put away what they had not finished, and the ones they had finished went under the tree. Picking up his sister, they come towards the front door. They are both in shock with what they see.
"Oh my, that's that's a baby." Chad stammers, looking up at his mother who was happily smiling at him
"It sure is. May we come in? I think my arm is going to fall off." Leta chuckles as the three inside step back to allow the adults and the baby into the house. As they go sit down, Lydia Kate is following the baby carrier and already oohing and awwing over the baby. Baby Greg was asleep so they couldn't be to loud.
"That's my brother." Lydia Kate smiles, watching as her mother sits down and gets the baby out of the carrier.
"Well, everyone, Greg and I would like you to meet Noel Aleks Bit, the newest member of the Bit family."
"I like him, mommy."
"Oh well, that's good because we can't return him." Leta chuckles, watching her daughter come closer.
"Hi baby, I'm your big sister, my name is Lydia Kate, but you can call me Katie. That's what momma calls me."
"Can I hold him, momma?"
