Chapter 1

MEET THE PLAYER

"Uh?" I choked on a piece of bacon slice, coughing slightly after taking a huge sip of my favourite  fresh orange juice.

"Paris," my mother repeated with a huge grin on her face. I wiped a sweaty hand down the side of my denim jeans.

"Can I ask whos idea this was in the first place?" I raised a brow expectantly, knowing full on whos it was.

"Ash's..." I groaned, "but listen honey; we were going to go on holiday in the first place, remember? Ash just suggested Paris, and we agreed because we thought it was a wonderful idea." I pursed my lips, biting on the inside of my cheek to prevent what I was thinking of saying next 'course it was great idea, oh why wouldn't it be, when Ashleigh suggested it?' Ash was my older brother. A keen learner, but a keen player too. Everyone loved his amazing personna, and devishly handsome looks. In reality he was a pain in the butt and loved to piss me off. Gah! The feeling was mutual.

"Oh honey! How about you think about it, but for now, why don't you get ready for school?" I forced a smile onto my face, and took my-now empty- dishes to the sink. While I was rinsing out the greasy plate, Ash walked into the kitchen.

"Hey Mum, Dad!" he greeted kissing my mother on the cheek, while acknowledging my silent father who hadn't said a word to me about the trip.

Meet the Player! Ash. 18. Currently studying at St Pauls Sixth Form. Grade A's in Math, Chemistry, Psychology, and Sociology.

No one could compare to him, or so people thought. If my parents actually payed attention to me, they'd realise that the A* in my Science Exam was no joke. Not that I told, or was planning on telling them.

"Hey, lil bro!" he smirked, ruffling my hair onto its ends. I growled. I hated it when he did that. It took forever for it to comb back into place. I ignored him and made my way silently back to my room.

Prick! I thought, go drown in a ditch.
