Mission Not Accomplished.
The speech:
Ladies and gentlemen of this respectable assembly.
I would like to share an opinion about a global organization which was originally established to preserve world Peace, end conflicts, and help countries restore their freedom after decades of wars and occupation.
Let us ponder on this honorable mission, as we look now upon a world eaten by wars ignited by the same people who claimed they wanted peace. Those who started their mission by approving the creation of a invasive state in the middle of a region weakened and neutralized by wars and invasions.
Those who approved the war on Iraq that killed over a million people. Those who apply political and economical pressure to control the weaker states and force them to follow their agendas.
Those who injected the so called "Arab Spring" that tore the middle East apart.
I still see only 5 "permanent" members who have the veto power to force their views on the majority. I wish the p5 represented the 5 continents or even represented a less imperialistic view.
Was the honorable mission accomplished? I'm afraid not. And I'm afraid this organization might be as ineffective as the former "league of nations" for the world is not peaceful, nor it is united.
