The Invitation

She tensed up hearing the name, because that name was probably among the most richest and powerful in the world. He indeed was a very foolish and greedy prince who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

Why is that man after my life?I want to free, but I can't...What will I do now?..What will I tell mother?...

She gulped nervously, not even uttering a word and the man just stared at her waiting for an answer. When he knew that he wasn't going to get one, he just glared at her.

"The prince wishes to see you there soon. Come in proper attire and tell us when you'll be informing, we'll be sending a carriage for you."

He simply said these words and left the shop, before Akane could even open her mouth. She sighed in relief when he left, but with a heavy heart continued to work, waiting for her mother to arrive back home.

When the clock struck 5, the door opened to reveal a beautiful woman in her fifties wearing a grey gown, which was a little tattered at the ends. She smiled excitedly at her daughter, with a letter and her small bag which she always carried wherever she went. Akane looked at her mother, and flashed a small and sad smile at her.

"Akane!Do you know what happened today?", She spoke in an extremely excited tone as her daughter looked at her confused.

"We're invited to the palace for the king's second child's birthday!Many villagers and noble guests will be present there too!"

When her mother mentioned 'noble guests', her heart sank as she though about Raj. Still with a even heavier heart she showed a fake smile. Her mother immediately understood that her daughter had been hiding something, but she said nothing to make her feel uncomfortable. Then they both remained silent and headed back home, to have food with the little money her mother had earned.
