"I was thinking tacos. Does that sound good?" Mary Margaret asked.
"Sure, sounds good to me," David said as he walked back into the kitchen.
"Okay, tacos it is," Mary Margaret stated and gave David a peck on the lips before sorting through the bags of groceries.
"Alright, well Killian and I will be in my room working on our project," Emma said as she started walking and Killian followed right behind her.
"Keep your door open," David shouted down the hallway. Emma simply scoffed and rolled her eyes. Like she was actually going to do anything with Killian.
Emma walked into her bedroom, and instantly plopped herself down on her bed. Killian stood in the doorway awkwardly.
"Are we actually going to work on the project?" He asked.
"You can if you want, but I'm just going to lay here until dinner is done," Emma replied as she folded her arms over her eyes in order to block out the light. A few seconds later, she felt the bed sink in next to her. She peaked her eyes out of her arms to see Killian laying next to her.
"Why did you date Neal?" He blurted out. Emma's eyes shot open in surprise. She didn't expect that question.
"What?" She asked, making sure she heard him right.
"Why did you date him? He doesn't seem like your type," Killian explains, putting air quotes around the last two words.
"I don't know. He was a really good guy when I met him, and he helped me through a lot," Emma replied. She felt a little weird opening up to someone close enough to being a stranger. She felt comfortable around Killian though, like she could tell him anything.
"Well he doesn't seem like all too good of a guy now," Killian chuckled.
"Yeah I know, but I would probably act the same if I was in his position," Emma admitted.
"What do you mean?" Killian asked. He wondered if this had to do with the secret she seemed to be hiding.
"I sort of gave away something of his . . . well, more like ours. I don't know, it's really complicated," she replied.
"Well I know you don't want to talk to him, but from the sounds of it, I think you need to," Killian said.
"I know, I just feel like he's going to try and hurt me next. I do deserve it after all," Emma sighed. She didn't necessarily like talking about this with Killian, but she needed to talk to someone about it.
"How about this. You can go talk to him at Granny's Diner or something, and I can wait outside in case he tries to hurt you," Killian suggested. Emma turned on her left side and propped her head up with her left hand. She stared Killian straight in the face, trying to see if there was something behind his plan.
"Why do you want to help me so much?" Emma asked him.
"I don't know. I just feel bad I guess. I sort of imagined you as this perfect girl with this perfect life, and I shouldn't of done that," he replied, looking down at the bed, ashamed.
"Okay, I guess you can help. You're sort of the first real person I've met in Storybrooke, you know?" Emma admitted.
"What do you mean by real?" Killian asked.
"Everyone else sort of just goes on about their day by themselves. They don't bother to ask how others are doing, or about their personal lives. I don't know, you're just like the first person who actually cares," Emma said.
"Well I'm happy to be here for you Swan. I know what it can be like to not have anyone around to help you in times of trouble," Killian replied with a smile on his face. It felt nice for him to actually have what felt like a real bond with somebody again.
