~ Note: Dragon Cave is a text-based adventure I am currently developing using Visual Basic scripting language. It is the first in a series of adventures. The following passage is the beginning storyline for the game, and I will post more excerpts of the story here as they are developed. Thanks for reading! ~

     Again you stir.

It's cold and damp, and you are coherent enough to make out that a grime layers your resting place. You begin to shuffle yourself toward the nearest light, emanating into the room in an ovular shape from across the rocky corridor. However, as you start so, a sound off to your far right startles you. It was obviously not caused by yourself, for it was a noise not capable of being made by humans at all. It was a growl; a lone growl, deep and boisterous, evidently deep from the bowels of a great beast.

Your heart sinks...the noise you heard can only have been made by the great beast that terrorizes all the lands - the noise came from a dragon. Not a mere imp, but an fully-grown and masculine creature. As you compromise the fear of your imminent situation, you start regaining your memory. As fire spewed from the lips of the great beasts, all of your beloved family, neighbors, and belongings were destroyed. You became a helpless hermit.

Alas, that is not all. Satisfied with their destruction, the wretched things proceeded to alienate the defenseless and capture them as tribute. Yourself included.

Stripped of your clothes, as no doubt you were to be prepared for consumption, you lie exposed and weaponless on the cave floor. Your perilous adventure to return home begins here.
