I look over at my stoic pokémon before blushing, and looking away. I've known him since he was Riolu, gosh darn it! It can't be that hard to tell someone you like them!

"(Y/N)?" Lucario asked, glancing over at me. "You seem to be lost in thought. Are you ok? I need you to be at your best to get through this forest"

"Yeah, i'm fine." I respond, looking into the woods. "I just needed a moment to collect my thoughts"

"Let's go then" He said, starting off at a brisk pace into the forest. He was always like this. Speaking bluntly, and without care for others emotions. It's not like he was mean, it was just that he isn't very good at figuring out how people feel, and how to react to it.

We start off at a brisk pace, sticking to the path, when inevitably it fades out.

"We can head through the trees" Says Lucario, looking up at the branches. "I'll lead, and you can follow"

"Ok then" I say leaping after him, up into the trees. As I leap from tree to tree, small branches start to scratch at my face, leaving small cuts. All of a sudden, i'm yanked from the trees, and onto the ground.

"I got the girl boss" Says a unfamiliar man. The only thing I could see of him was a giant black hood.

"Good" Says another. He had long white hair, and a red jacket on. "Keep an eye out for her pokémon. He's apparently a Lucario"

I quickly bite down on the hand covering my mouth.

"OW!" Black hood screamed. "This b*tch bit me!"

"LUCARIO!" I screamed, before a gag was shoved in my mouth.

"This'll keep her quiet" Said white hair.

All of a sudden, black hood was hit with an aura sphere. He promptly disappeared.

"Tch" Said white hair, running off. "It's not worth it to press on here"

"Sorry about that" Said Lucario, untying the gag. "I lost a bit of control when I saw them holding you there"

"It's ok" I respond, rubbing my mouth, trying to get the awful taste out of my mouth. "I was just hoping you wouldn't hit me"

"I could never hit you!" Cried out Lucario. I looked at him, a bit shocked by the outburst.

"That's a bit out of character" I say, giving him a poke. He suddenly engulfs me in a hug.

"I'm sorry for not being there" He said, soft tears coming out of his eyes. "I'm sorry for not noticing when you disappeared"

"Hey it's ok" I say, trying to console him. "You're here now"

"But isn't it my job to protect those I love?" He asked. I freeze.

"Wait" I force out, blushing loudly. "You love me?"

"I thought you knew" He responds, looking down at me.

"Well, obviously I didn't!" I say, somehow blushing worse.

"You're so cute, you know that?" He suddenly said out of nowhere.

"Enough of this!" I shout jumping up into the trees. "We have to get to the next city!"

"You're embarrassed!" He said, jumping after me. "And we're going the wrong way"

"I know that!"
