"i have a proposal for you and it's something you can't turn down for several reasons and i'm pretty sure you know most of them. i'll stop adding too many things and i'll get straight to the point..."

"hey, asami? what the hell are you thinking about?" geum won, her current boyfriend, looked at her with an upset expression.

asami could still remember the arrogant smirk her boss sent her way when he was talking to her about his proposal. she thought it was dumb and unnecessary to involve her. he has money and power so why not use it to get what he wants?

she was so distracted by the nonsense that taeyong went on about that day that she'd forgotten that she was on a date with her boyfriend. she finally put her attention onto him when he called out her name and responded with a hum.

"are you seriously fucking kidding me? we're on a date what could possibly be more important than me right now?"

she stared at him. how could she tell him that her boss suggested that she accepts an absurd and strange request. if she did it would make her a cheater in the relationship and it was absolutely against her principle: what's the point of being in a relationship with a person if you're going to see other people behind their back? if you want to see many people at a time might as well stay single.

"oh, i'm not thinking of anything in particular. i'm just a tad bit worried about eden." she smiled at her boyfriend and caressed his hand in an apologetic manner.

geum won let out a heavy sigh. he was tired of eden this, eden that, eden, eden, eden. it was always about that child. he wanted a day without her kid being brought up in a conversation and it seemed like that would be something no one could change, so right at that second he'd come up with a way of solving the problem.

"asami," she hummed in response. "let's break up. i'm tired of everything, absolutely everything! you can never go a day without talking about eden, you choose work over me, you're always busy, and you..." she moved closer to her to prevent others from hearing. "i know you've been faking your orgasms lately..."

asami was flabbergasted. he didn't say much to her but she couldn't believe he was complaining about eden. geum won was there to help her raise him so how was it possible that he saw eden as a burden to their relationship.

"i... i don't know what—" he interrupted her.

"as always, you never say anything! this is why i cheated on you with someone else that's way better than you. she's prettier, she has no kids, and she makes money unlike your useless job." geum won grabbed his belongings and stormed out of the restaurant they were dining in.

she could feel everyone's eyes on her. of course they'd stare at her, he just yelled their personal business in public. although asami most likely wouldn't see any of these strangers again, it was embarrassing. she felt the temperature of her face rise and the burning sensation in her eyes as tears began spilling out of her eyes.

"what? what an asshole! i can't believe I introduced you to him and approved of that bastard." bora said. asami had to remove the phone from her ear due to bora's yelling

bora was disappointed in the man she thought her cousin would spend the rest of her life with. he helped asami raise eden and they looked like they were falling in love all over again everyday in their relationship. she even assumed geum won was getting ready to propose to her at some point.

"it was probably for the best. when he said he wanted to break up. i didn't really feel anything. a small part of my heart ached but it wasn't much. i don't think i realized i fell out of love since i was investing majority of my time into work and taking care of eden."

"i guess so, but what was that other thing you wanted to me about?"

"my boss asked me to, basically, date him."

"your boss what?! he barely just joined the company and you don't even know him like that and he asks you out!?" asami once again parted the phone from her ears. her cousin's yelling almost made her ear shed blood.

asami sighed, "actually, I do know him," she wanted to avoid the topic but similar to taeyong, is she didn't tell all the details now bora would find out her way eventually. "he's the father of my kid bora, what do I do?!"

there was silence on bora's end of the line for a while, "what?! have you given him an answer?" bora's brain wanted to shut down, it was so little but so much information to take in on her side.

"no, you think i'm calm about this? it's been almost two weeks and i haven't given him a response! i'm surprised i'm still even working there, i would've fired myself if i were him." asami massaged her temples with her thumb and middle finger of her free hand.

"well, I think you'd be an idiot to reject his offer, he is eden's father." her cousin said bluntly. "think about it. you're getting a free pass to a life of comfort with no worries"

"yeah, but its not as easy as your making it sound!" asami let out a heavy sigh. 

bora rolled her eyes, "actually, it is. you just enjoy making life impossible for yourself, dear cousin."
