present day OCTOBER 14, 20xx company building ━━━
ASAMI ARRIVED AT HER job and the whole building was in chaos. Employees were scurrying here and there with piles of documents and projects that needed to be approved, proofread, or signed. As they each hurried to their departments the jingle of their key cards and lanyards hitting against each other could be heard from every corner.
Asami glanced at her watch and it read '8:05 AM'.
'Damn it, I'm late again.' she thought as she joined the other rushing employees.
"Miss. Matsui you're late again! And you're late on an important day," the art director groaned and scoffed at Asami looking down on her. "Just take a seat before you make my blood pressure go up." frustrated, she massaged her temple and shortly after began the important presentation. "Well let's get started with today's meeting." she shut off the presentation screen and smiled at all the employees in the room. Her smile was unsettling and no one knew what to make of it because... well, this lady is the epitome of a devil and working with her was definitely something else.
All the employees sat there in silence as they glanced at each other. some even whispering. After what felt like forever the department manager let out a heavy sigh and harshly slammed her hand on the table causing people to jolt in their seats. "People get ready to trash, burn, or shred the projects and articles you've been working on for the past few months. Your hard work was pointless."
"Why would we do that?" an employee was brave enough to speak up for everyone.
"You're brave for speaking when it's not your turn." the art director scowled at the employee. "It'd be pointless to fire you right now, so I'll spare you. We're being bought off by some great individuals. The current owners are retiring and honestly I would too if I was receiving a large sum for company that's considered a nobody in the industry." she shrugged as she made that comment. "So far the art department is the only one aware of this information and I can't wait for the chaos that will take place once everyone finds out. Well, I can now answer any questions you all may have."
