Chapter 3

Elsa

All her life Elsa had lived in fear of what might happen if she used her powers. She remembered what the trolls said-why wouldn't she? It was the end of her freedom. Or so she thought.

Now that she had revealed her secret to everyone, the consequences didn't seem so bad. Sure, she was isolated again, but the big difference was that now she was free.

Free to do whatever she wanted.

Elsa felt her powers building up again and released them in a flurry of snow that floated down, landing on her. She brushed them off, smiling.

Elsa's powers were like a storm inside her. She couldn't not use them for long. Before, she buried them deep inside her where only negative emotions could get to them and let them out, like sadness, and fear. Fear is the worst. It makes the storm grow, and grow, and grow, until it bursts out of her, uncontrollable. Like what happened at the coronation. So it's best for her to keep letting it out and not holding it all back where it'll build up and explode out of her.

Which is exactly what Elsa wants to do.

She touched the wall and a snowflake pattern crystallized onto the ice. Then she went downstairs and outside. She didn't want fill her ice palace with snow until she knew how to get rid of it, because let's face it, ice doesn't make very good brooms.

Elsa made a ball of ice in hands and threw it into the air. It exploded into a bunch of snowflakes that floated down. Whenever one touched the ground, Elsa made a giant snowflake.

When she was done, she waved her hand and an ice chair appeared. She sat down on it and looked at her work. It was amazing.

She could just stay there forever, looking at the giant snowflakes, but she was tired and the woods get creepy at night. So she went back into her palace.

-------------------

When she woke up it was around noon, but she didn't care. She has no rules or routines here. It's perfect.

She stretched and walked over to her balcony. As she looked out of the window, she saw three figures heading through the forest towards her palace. Two were people, and the other was a... horse? If it was a horse, how come nobody was riding it? Maybe it's a reindeer?

The trio headed up her ice stairs. She saw someone else with them. Small, and white. A snowman?

Wait, they were going up the stairs that lead to her palace. They HAD to be going to her palace. Why?

Elsa felt the fear taking over and snow started to fall. What did want? Why were they here? She thought of what the people had called her. A monster. Were they making some sort of competition to see who would come back alive?

She continued to watch them. They became bigger and more in focus as they got closer. Yes, that was reindeer. Yes, that actually was a snowman. Wei-erd. That's some random guy, and that's...

"Anna?!?!" gasped Elsa. She ran down to the bottom of the stairs. What was SHE doing here? Doesn't she know that Elsa's dangerous? Doesn't she know what Elsa had done to her?

That stopped Elsa short. Of course Anna didn't know. Her memories of that were erased. It was the reason why Elsa had to lock herself in her room for the rest of her life.

Because of Elsa.

Through the door, Elsa heard someone whisper, "She's supposed to be knocking. Why isn't she knocking? Do you think she knows how to knock?"

Elsa braced herself to let Anna in. "Conceal don't feel. Conceal don't feel," Elsa said to herself over and over again. She couldn't let herself get upset, or she'd hurt Anna. She had to stay cool. Despite everything, Elsa laughed.

Anna knocked, and the door creaked open.

"Hello Anna," said Elsa.
