I could've sworn I didn't pack too much but here I am out of breath trying to zip my last luggage closed. After I get it closed I sigh and throw myself onto it, it isn't comfortable but I'm tired so I lie there for a little. My phone dings and I don't even bother with it, it was Anthony. I get up and throw my backpack on, grab my swipe key from the table and roll my luggage out of the room. I head to the private check out desk, thank God for room benefits!
The concierge takes my key and I give her a warm smile. I'm out this bitch! I turn around and immediately groan a signature "fuuuckk meee." Jake makes his way towards me and I try and bound for the nearest exit. He catches me by my wrist and begins to drag me to the elevator, why me? Good question. I cringe and begin to yank my wrist out of his grasp.
"I'm two seconds away from saying you're kidnapping me." I grit through teeth.
He lets me go, but stops in front of the desk I was at moments ago. "Okay, then just come with me... please?"
Groaning, I hand my luggage to a bellhop and advise him to load it into a taxi, I also ask him to have the taxi wait for me because this little event would only be a few minutes. He nods and I thank him then proceed to follow Jake. Figuring I'd humor him one last time I take my time walking to their room. We walk in silence and once we enter he urges me to sit. I cross my arms and hold one hand up to tell him I'm on a time limit. Glancing at my watch, I look back and him and sigh.
"You have five minutes... less if I feel like this conversation is bullshit." I say and refold my arms.
Jake once again participates in word vomit in the form of defending his team. He isn't a lawyer, but the way he constantly sticks up for things he knows aren't right may hint towards him wanting to be one. The whole time I try to keep myself from yawning and keep my eyerolls at bay.
"Listen, it's over and done for. I don't really care for you guys anymore, you're the weirdest group of people I've ever met. I'd like for you to stop contacting me... and that means all of you. Tell Anthony to lay the fuck off before I block his number." I finish.
Returning to my task, I move towards the door. As I walk to it I glance at all the things that have become so familiar to me and mentally click my tongue.
"Where are you going?" Jake says loudly so the sound could reach me because he stayed in his spot.
"Is it really any of your business?" I turn around to answer his question with another question.
Shaking my head, I proceed to walk backward while giving a short and sarcastic laugh. I open the door and with one last glance mumble a "Bye, Jake." Which will hopefully end the random ass cycle and prompt them to leave me alone. I hurriedly try and make my way back to the bellhop to give him a tip. I hand him the money and hop into the cab with the swiftness making my way over to the Aria. I check into the hotel and then hurry to my one bedroom suite. I leave my luggage zipped and move towards the curtains, drawing them back to allow for natural sunlight to puncture the room.
I'm on the 26th floor of this hotel so the view was of the beautiful strip I've become so accustomed to. I run the bath and wait for the tub to fill so I could throw in this bath bomb I got from Target earlier today. I Facetime my mom and ask how my dad did in surgery, he was a surgeon and he had been nervous about this five-hour brain operation. She informs me he did well though telling me to worry more about myself after the whole Team 10 situation. I laugh and once again dismiss her worrying with the wave of a hand. We get off the phone with quick "I love you"s and I'm left to continue with my plans.
Turning off the water and feeling for the temperature I nod to myself and throw the bath bomb in. It instantly fizzes and I plug my phone into the available iHome letting SZA flow through the room. I grab the wine bottle from the Target bag and pop it open placing it directly next to the tub. I undress and hurriedly hop into the water that makes a plopping noise as I get comfortable. Since I faced forward I blindly reach for the wine bottle. Stella Rosa, cheap but delicious. I remember that I forgot the glasses on the table and opt for drinking straight from the bottle. Relaxation at its finest. Finally, I was in a state where if I left my hotel room to wander I wouldn't worry about running into someone I didn't want to run into. I could relax, walk the hotel and take as many pictures as I wanted.
SZA's album seemingly spoke directly to me. Love Galore was almost a personal attack and I felt as if when I got drunk I would fight to this song, fists flying and lyrics being screamed. To be honest, I've had situations similar to this happen. While I wasn't played by a star quarterback I did have a rough time in high school with boys. Not only did I earn a boyfriend off of a two-sided drunk bet, I also managed to get my heart broken by the captain of our hockey team. Hockey. Team. I roll my eyes as the memories flood back in and I cringe at myself. While none of them come close to how ugly the Anthony situation is I realized that I knew the signs, ignored them and then acted brand new when the truth was revealed. I chug the wine and wiggle my toes. I truly am a mess.
This book is almost done, sisters!
While this fanfic may be shitty, I'm proud because it's the first fanfic and I've stuck with it and fought till the end. A BLESSING.
