As the years passed Cinder And Elle were now at the age of twelve,. The two little troublemakers had been running around in the corn and wheat fields with their dresses on. Cinder, wore a beautiful flower dress that had a background of white. Ella on the other hand, wore a simple blue dress with flowered patterns on it in a different shade of turquoise. As the two sisters giggle their way to the front porch of their farm, the laughter died. A big brown carriage with 2 horses on the front attached by ropes stood blocking the view of their steps that led into the house. On the side of the carriage a symbol that resembled a sword with 2 long stipes that enterwinded with eachother seemed to stop at the handle of where there were 2 wings that spread out majestically. As the only children in the village, they didn't know much. But one thing they DID know, was what that symbol meant. They cautiously entered the door, which had been left wide open. Cinder went in front leading the way for her little sister. As they were walking down a hallway leading towards their dining room, they both turned to the sound of utter murmurs. They followed the sound of the hushed gibberish, the closer they got the clearer the words were, thought never could they completely understand what the unknown people were talking about.

They kept going, Ella clinged onto Cinder as the two sisters neered a door of which a golden light pierced through the crack of the door left open. Ella went right ahead to look inside but the light blinded her. Still recovering, Cinder gently moved her to the side to look for herself. The light didn't seem to bother her as it did Ella, so she looked right into the room. Once she got a clear view of what was there, Cinder gasped and struck away from the door pulling Ella with her. Ella kept trying to ask her what she saw but all Cinder did was try to keep moving, slowly dragging Ella along with her. Just as the commotion was rising the door opened leaving the girls to see the reason why the symbol they'd seen on the carriage was there. The doctor, Mr Harold and his nurse, Maya exited the room and bypassed Ella and Cinder. Maya whispered something to their father Aaron then followed after Mr Harold. "Come along children," Aaron whispered his brittish accent strong frong when he immigrated here (Muddle Sway). "You heard the doctor."

They entered the room to see their mother, Olivia on her bed. She laid unconscious rested on top of most of her blankets accept for a single sheet. There was no pressure on her chest at all. Even her dress robe was light cotton. Their father gently shoved the two frozen girls into the room beside their mother. Both girls were wondering the same question, but neither dared to ask it. What's wrong with her?

Ella looked around for clues, but only found bottles of prescriptions for medicine. Though the labels were too small to read. Cinder could do nothing but stare, she stumbled forward and knelt beside her mother. "Is she dead?" Cinder asked barely a whisper. Luckily her father was still holding it together. "No... but she is very sick" Cinder started a soft cry, that only stood out because the rest were even afraid to breath.

When the doctor came back in the afternoon His information went by in a blurr. "She has mild..... case of...... She has to...... In order to...... survive..... Only has so much.... time... before she.....Has to......take these...... plague" plague. The plague was a contagious bacterial disease that involved a fever and delirium. It also sometimes formed in the lungs. Ella looked over at Cinder who caught her breath as the doctor announced that indeed she would not survive this. The doctor suggested preparing to say goodbyes, that he would arrange for a lovely funeral at the town square. With that he left and the two girls said goodbye to their mother.
