The days went by in a flash. A kind makeup woman was putting blush on Cinder to try and cover up the dry tears that had been plastered on her face since Olivia, their mother, died over three days ago. Ella stood frozen running her fingers over the cards -she and her sister had secretly prepared, hidden in the black folds of her dress that poofed out from her waist. Glitter sparkled everywhere from the thin straps to the hem of the dress skirt that rested inches below Cinder's knees. Though Ella was as beautiful as a rose. She wore a strapless top that lowered down and puffed out a bit as her sister's did. But hers was inches above her knees and had a flowery design all over it. Her flushed cheeks from crying still stood out no matter how much makeup they put on her. Her eyes stood out as they were a bright green against her pale face. Cinder's pose read princess, her back was straight while her arms fell down but came together at the waist. Were her hands gingerly held her own cards that she'd prepared.
At last the ceremony started, almost everyone in the town showed up to morn her. The speaker stood up to a stage, while everyone else stood below looking up to him from the ground. Cinder, Ella, and their father located right next to the stage. As the speaker started his speech a carriage write up. No one dared turn away, the speaker hesitated but kept going. Cinder and Ella looked to see a woman wearing a red velvet and black floral dress step out. She wore a bun to wear she attached a piece of fabric that came over her head but stopt only to cover her forehead. Behind her two girls wearing similar dresses both tried to push through at the same time. They shoved one another until the one with the green floral dress pushed through proudly, satisfied to win she held up her bouquet of fake flowers up to her chin as she turned around to give a hmmf! At the other girl who wore an orange dress instead of a green, and she too had a bouquet.
Ella had hardly noticed what was going on until Cinder gave her a nudge to signal her. "- and now i'd like to present Olivia's two daughters Cinder and Ella who have secretly prepared some words for their mother." All eyes turned to them as the two sister held hands while walking up the stage, and froze in front of the coffin that held their mother in it. Cinder brushed a hand over the coffin and looked up to the cloudy gray sky she turned to her sister and gave her a nod. Ella was first. "Mom, you meant so so much to me. I remember four years ago, when I was almost nine, I told you that one day... I was going to be a princess and host a ball every time someone had a birthday so they knew they were special. Then... We danced in the kitchen together pretending that the bags aprons we wore were beautiful dresses, and threw flower in the air to pretend it was rice at my wedding. You told me that day... that dad had been your moon... That he meant the world to you, and you told me that the..." Ella choked as she knelt down onto the coffin using if for support while she cried. Cinder rushed over to her and stood by her side while she finished. "You told me that I was your star, and I need you to know more than anything else... that you are mine..." The crowd awed as Cinder step forwards. Her voice was strong and confident. "Mom, you were always there for me, and so I want you to know that this doesn't change anything. Because you'll be staying where you belong,... in our hearts. So today I wrote a poem to show you how much you mean to me.
Lightning strikes across the world,
As a heartbeat is skipped take the twirl,
Look behind you this time,
For soon you will have to cross the line,
And choose,
Weather you win or loose,
Go ahead and try,
Be the best you can and fly,
It dosent matter what others say,
You see youre self better every day,
So help those you cant see you,
As selfless brave and true.
Thank you for being the best mom I could have..." Cinder whispered as the crowd bursted out with cheers. The two sisters stood upfront and waited for it to grow quiet. Then started softly singing. "Lavender's blue dilly dilly lavender's green, when we are queen dilly dilly you shall be king, call up your friends dilly dilly set them to work, some to the plow dilly dilly some to farm dirt, some to make hay dilly dilly some to fresh coal, when we are queen dilly dilly you shall be king" Their father joined them on the stage and everyone started singing with them. "Lavender's blue dilly dilly lavender's green, when I am king dilly dilly you shall be queen," They all stood quiet while the girls continued on their part. "Who told. you. so. dilly dilly who. told. you. so? T'is. my. Own. heart. Dilly dilly that. Told. me. So."
