Christmas is that happy time
when spirits are all bright
and everyone is busy
from morning until night.
It's the time for wrapping parcels
and putting up the tree
and decorating houses
with lights for all to see.
It's the time for hanging stockings
for Santa Clause to fill
and making sure there'll be surprises
for every little Jack and Jill.
It's the time when children hurry off to bed
where they hear Santa and his reindeers
and his toy laden sled.
It's the time for family dinners
with friends to come and share
when love and peace and caring
seem to fill the very air.
But could it be we're so involved
in the bustle of the season
that through it all we might forget
the very sacred reason...
That we even have a Christmas day
when according to God's plan
the little Christ child came to earth
and changed the destiny of man.
So let us, as the day draws near
prepare our souls, our minds and hearts
to absorb the true meaning of the day
before all other planning starts.
By taking time to meditate
and to worship and to pray
And to capture the true spirit
of the holy Christmas day.
