(The photo is of Kelbie after the 10 years. I changed a few things like her shoes and trousers)
This is gonna be a short story about my best friend and her love for the 13th doctor. I hope you enjoy.Kelbie sprinted along the slippy path as the rain fell heavily. She was late. She shook her head pushing negative thoughts aside 'i'm gonna make it. I have to' her feet slammed into the many puddles that flooded the path as the rain fell harder almost trying to stop Kelbie.
She was in too much of a hurry to even look as she darted across the road. Everything seemed to slow down as she felt her feet slip. She saw the car coming and heard the ear piercing screech of the break. She closed her eyes ready to embrace the harsh floor.
Nothing. She felt nothing. What she heard was different. Ringing. 'am I dead'. The ringing changed and started to be come clearer. Screaming.
Kelbie opened her eyes and wasn't meant with death but something more beautiful. Two chocolate brown eyes starred back as well as a smile that could light the darkest of rooms. Everything was a blur she could only focus on the woman above her.
"I'm glad your safe. Kelbie" the stranger sighed. Kelbie nodded not knowing what else to say.
"Your late Kelbie" the woman added. As soon as the words left the woman's mouth everything snapped back to normal. Kelbie rushed to her feet but as she turned around the woman was gone.
Kelbie searched but she was gone. Nowhere. She hesitantly turned around and continued running to her destination.
That was the first and last time Kelbie saw the woman and she couldn't help but dream of her. The way her brown eyes sparkled and the way her smile made everything ok.
10 years later
Kelbie pushed her short brown hair from her eyes as she pulled on her trusty black shirt and pulled on her black skinny genes she also grabbed her gray neck scarf and black converse. She checked her outfit and nodded 'once again on point' she laughed as she turned looking at the last of her stuff to pack.
She opened her draws as she packed her stuff. "Do you have to go?" Whined her little brother. "I'm sorry Robin" Kelbie bent down to rub the 8 year olds hair "you need to promise you'll look after mother and protect her" she said seriously. Robin nodded but he really didn't want Kelbie to go.
Kelbie shooed Robin out so she could finish packing. She reached into her draws and found her old sketchpad and laughed. She opened the first page and shook her head at the woman on the page 'she was just a childhood dream' that's what she was told as a child and that's what she accepted. The woman was a dream that made her late to the hospital.
Kelbie tossed the book in a box and sealed the top. The box was added to the few boxes by the door with the words 'uni' on them.
She looked back at her room now bare and empty "I sure will miss it here" she whispered as she remembered all the memories that held a special place in her heart but one stood out the most. The woman.
Kelbie shook her head as her phone vibrated
"Are you ready to spend a whole 2 years with me and party till we vomit all over the place!!! YEAH UNI!!!!!!!!!"
Kelbie giggled at her best friend Clara's text.
"Yeah I'm ready"
Kelbie put her phone away and started to take her boxes to the taxi outside.Kelbie said her goodbyes and got in the yellow taxi. She watched as her family grew smaller and smaller. Her heart tightened as she instantly missed them but pushed her negativity aside and looked forward. This was a big jump and she had to be ready to make friends and to still survive uni.
This was gonna change Kelbie's life and she was nervous but excited. But once again her mind drifted to woman 'who was she'
Hey I'm back I know. It's been almost a year since I've last been writing and it's great to be back.
