“So you’re new album just came out Tuesday and you took almost three years to write it and put it all together. So, tell us a little bit about it. How does it differ from your other albums?”
Ed fidgets a little nervously in his chair. Interviews aren’t necessarily his favorite thing to do. He didn’t think he had the vivacious personality required to make an interesting interview, but he learned along the way. At least today it was radio and he doesn’t have a camera shoved in his face.
“Well I’ll definitely say this one is happier than my first two” He admits with a small chuckle. “A lot of amazing things have happened these past few years, inspiring things and I’ve just written a lot about it.”
“Yes, a lot of stuff has happened, like I don’t know, say getting married last year?” The radio host pushes with a knowing look. Ed can feel his cheeks turn pink and thinks of Taylor listening at home.
“Um, yeah, that-that did happen” He budges just a little.
“How’s the married life treating you? You guys’ story is pretty sweet from what I’ve heard.”
“It’s good, yeah, really great. We, um, we’ve actually known each other since we were kids, and it, it definitely took sometime but we eventually found our way to each other. Most of the album is pretty much about her, and our story kind of. She actually helped co-write several of the tunes. It’s just really something special to experience that process together. We’ve written our own stuff for years so to work together on this and kind of relive moments…It was just really special” He’s beaming and looking down at the floor while the people in the studio aw at him.
“That’s truly amazing, incredible” The interview offers with a seemingly genuine smile. “So your wife, Taylor, right?” He asks and Ed nods his head. “She’s a songwriter as well?”
“Yeah, an insanely talented one. I’ve actually been telling her for years that she should pursue it, but the stage just doesn’t really call to her I guess…We are both pretty private people, except in music, so we try to just keep mostly to ourselves, and well now we kind of have other things on our plate so who knows…” Ed bites down on his tongue hoping he hadn’t given too much, but the interview moves on without further speculation.

“Taylor?” Ed calls out softly shutting the front door of their home. Dropping his bags to the floor, he’s eager to see his wife after two weeks of not being by her side.
“In here” Her voice travels from the living room. He walks quickly, rounding the corner in long strides, and finds his lovely wife curled up on the sofa watching television. She sits up at the sight of him, opening her arms, and he wraps her up, lifting her light frame from the couch.
“Hey” He whispers against her ear, breathing in her sweet scent deep into his lungs, letting it fill him until his chest hurts. “Missed you so much…”
“I missed you too” She giggles into his neck and, God, does he love that sound. He draws back so he can give her a kiss, long but sweet, just enjoying having her close again.
“How have my girls been?” He releases her only so he can drop his hands to the tiny bump of her belly that had only started to show a few weeks ago.
“Ed…” She laughs unable to stop the wide smile stretching across her face. “We don’t know that it’s going to be a girl. We won’t know until next week.” She laughs at his insistence. His blue eyes get serious.
“It’s going to be a girl” He persists. “And she’s going to be unbearably beautiful, just like her mother…it’s just too bad she’s going to have my awful hair”
Taylor pouts at him, moving her hands along his face until they’re running through his tousled mop. “Hey now, I happen to like your fire truck hair.” She smirks. “In fact, I think it’s really…really…sexy” She spaces each word with a soft kiss, smiling against his lips.
“I think you’re sexy” He says into her mouth making her cheeks hot and another giggle bubble past her lips.
“I know…” She grabs his hand, dragging it down until its resting against her growing stomach again. “I think that’s how this happened.” Ed snorts, tangling his free hand into her soft curls, so he can kiss her harder.
“Well we don’t have to worry about this” He taps her stomach with his finger. “…happening again for several more months, so I say we should make the most of it.” He sweeps, Taylor, his wife, his lover, his best friend, off her feet, just like he’s been doing for years. He carries her to the bedroom they now share and can feel pure joy coursing through his body. His heart pounds with it, pumping it through his veins to every limb, to the tips of his toes and fingers. He swells with it and it spills from his pores because it’s too much to be held in. He breathes it into Taylor, sharing it with her as his lips move with hers. He doesn’t stop until he literally can’t breathe, because she’s stolen it away, like she has been all this time.
“God, I love you so much” He tells her looking into her blue eyes that have been the only real home he’s ever known.
“Forever and ever?” She asks smiling up at him, she’s not a six year old with missing teeth anymore and a frizzy afro, but it’s still that same smile that changed his life. It is his life.
“Even longer” He whispers, because no amount of time with her will ever be enough.
The End!
