Back To The Future || Kellic

Chapter 18.

Vic's POV:
"So, this time without making it sexual. Answer my question; do you have any New Year's resolutions?"

We're a few days into the year 2121, which yes I still haven't understood is what I am supposed to say when thinking about what year it is. Kellin has been looking for different schools and jobs that he might be interested in, so far finding a few maybe's, a lot of no's but so far none yes definitely's. Me myself is going back to work tomorrow, having my first day at the new bureau where I'll be working with Mike.

"Like I said last time, I haven't really thought that much about any. But I guess that maybe taking you out on a date at least once or twice a month is one I can have," I answer, my reply causing Kellin to smile.

"That sounds like a pretty good resolution I must say, you're such a great boyfriend." Kellin leans in to press his lips to my cheek but I manage to quickly turn my head in the last second, making his lips hit mine instead.

"I know, I'm the best boyfriend ever," I say jokingly as we've pulled away from the brief kiss.

"How are you feeling about going to work tomorrow?" Kellin asks me, changing the subject.

"I'm feeling great about it to be honest. Literally the only downside is that I won't be seeing you for exactly as many hours per day, but I know we will still see each other a lot since we live together so it should be fine. It'll be really nice to get back to a daily routine actually, and I like my job. Especially now when I'll get to work with my younger brother and see my family at work."

"That's great babe. I'm really happy for you. That you've met them and that you like your job so much. And you're sure you're okay with me not working for a while? Because I don't want to be an economic burden on you." Kellin gives me a worried look and I know this is an issue he's been worrying about before too; that I will find it annoying or something to pay for him.

"I promise it's fine Kells. You had to pay for me in the beginning so this practically makes us even. And also, you are my boyfriend and I absolutely love you. Money isn't the important thing here, the fact that we both love and support each other is."

"Yeah you're right. Thank you for supporting me with not being bored to death while working at the café,"

"You're very welcome darling. Thank you for supporting me through everything with my family. And for helping me with all the random future things that I haven't wrapped my head around yet."

Kellin giggles a little at me, probably thinking about one of the many times we've had some interesting discussions because of me not being used to live here yet. I must have sounded really stupid to my boyfriend from time to time as well, since he sometimes literally could not stop laughing at me.

But hey, how was I supposed to know the fucking condom had a mind of it's own and rolled down itself like a freaking snail. Who wouldn't get freaked out by that?! So yeah.. now we use the medicine they have in the future that can apparently protect you from all kinds of std's instead, since future condoms scared me too much.

Forgetting about the condom and how embarrassed I felt during that moment, right now things are better. Even if I don't know everything about the future now either, I know a lot more than I did back then and haven't had a moment where I felt truly embarrassed since the condom incident.

All in all, I'm really really consent with living in the future. Sure sometimes I don't like not knowing things, but eventually I'll get there. The only thing I really have to miss back home is my old apartment which I really loved. But I love this apartment as well so I shouldn't be complaining.

Apart from that, I have absolutely everything I've ever needed here in the future. Never have I been this privileged before as I am now. I have the most wonderful boyfriend who I love with my whole heart. And him and I even have an adorable cat together. I still have Jaime by my side, living only a couple of blocks away.
