"How are we supposed to get him back Hopper?" Joyce asked for the thousandth time as Hopper sighed.

It had been a week since Will's disappearance. Literally, a week of hell.

You knew about everything.

The Upside Down.

Eleven.

The Demogorgons.

Everything.

Joyce had been desperate. You couldn't blame her, her son was missing, and no one knew if he was dead or alive.

All that had been on your mind was him, that night, on the corner, outside of Mike's house.

Before you could decide any different, you forced yourself to step forwards, and planted a kiss on the boy's lips, surprising him. You pulled away, and realized he had grabbed your hand and was holding it tightly. You shyly and slowly looked up and met his eyes, and much to your surprise, his held a sparkle to them, and a smile was playing along his lips.

"You could have just said something you know," he teased as you couldn't help but smile back.

"Guess I have a different way of finding my words," you said back and squeezed his hand and he squeezed back. You brushed a strand of hair behind your ear, and looked him in the eye, a little more confident now. Breaking the silence again between the two of you, he pulled you in and kissed you again, this one not rushed as the last one was.

You were half listening to the conversation between Joyce and Hopper, but you perked up when you caught an interesting topic from them:

"Hopper, we can't even get into the lab." Joyce protested.

"Yes we can, I know how." Hopper answered gently.

"By breaking in?" Joyce muttered in disbelief.

"It'll be risky, but you said you'd do anything to get Will back." Hopper retaliated.

"I will, but..."

"But what Joyce?"

"What about y/n? We can't leave her here with the rest of the boys."

"Why not? She's old enough to care for herself."

"Yes but...Will trusts her, with everything he has. I want him to be with her when we retrieve him."

"It's too dangerous, it's risky getting just the two of us through that portal."

"They will be more likely to let us through if we have a child with the two of us."

"Well...yea...with her experience I guess that is a good point...ugh, Joyce, no, we can't."

"Not with what's happening..."

"No, I can't lose another kid. Because god only knows what it did to Will. Who knows if it's gonna target her and we have to choose between the two of them who to save?"

"You're right...I guess not..."

You went deep into your thoughts once more, but before you could get very far, you were snapped from your thoughts, feeling a warm hand being placed on your cheek as you looked up into Joyce's eyes.

"Honey, it's okay," she said as tears began to prick at your eyes. "We'll find him. I promise you, we are going to find a way to bring Will home." You nodded, knowing what was going to happen that night.

"I want to come," you said, catching Joyce and Hopper, who had just walked out of his office, by utter surprise. "Tonight. I want to come with you."
