Bella's POV
"I'M HEREEE!" My best friend Chloe burst into my room. Without knocking,might I add.
"Chloe, we've had this conversation about five times too many. I know you're my bestie, but that doesn't mean you don't have to knock," I scolded her."Sheesh, what crawled up your butt?" Chloe can be so weird sometimes.
"Okay, you're right. Sorry if I seem a little cranky, It's just, my subs have been requesting more covers and I've been working on them all morning." I put my guitar aside and stand up.
"You've been working on songs all day? You know songs are only four minutes, right?" Chloe is always trying to reason with me. She just doesn't understand.
"Its more complicated than that," I huffed.
Because it is more complicated than that. If I don't do what the people want to see, the people won't want to see what I do. If people don't want to see what I do, I won't want to do what I do. If I don't want to do what I do, I won't know what to do with myself. Its a whole chain reaction thing.
"Is it, though? Look, I know you want everything to be perfect, but you can't put so much pressure on yourself. What do you say we go to Chick's?" Chloe asked. That girl is always trying to get me to slack off.
"I don't know..." That was a lie. I do know. I know that I don't want to go, therefore I will not. I had a lot of work to do if I wanted to give my subscribers what they wanted.
"I'm not taking no for an answer."
Ugh.
~~~~~~~Chloe and I walked into Chick's and sat at our favorite table. The waitress came to greet us almost immediately. "The Usual?" She asked with a friendly smiled plastered on her face.
"Yeah." Chloe and I answered simultaneously. I looked out the window as my thoughts drifted to YouTube.
Yeah, I'm a youtuber. Well, sort of. I sing covers. I have a pretty decent following, at least for now. I love what I do, but there's something...missing. I'm trying my best to expand my channel to kickstart my potenital career in music, but so far, nothing's worked.
"Two chocolate milkshakes and one blueberry muffin. Enjoy!" The waitress puts my milkshake and my muffin in front of me, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Yum! Muffin time!" I say to myself rubbing my hands togehter and anticipating the deliciousness to come."I don't understand why you love those things so much." Chloe asked with her nose scrunched in disgust.
"BECAUSE!" I explained. Its that simple, really.
"Such a logical answer," Chloe remarked, obviously being sarcastic.
I smile. I'm really glad Chloe convinced (forced) me to take a break, I really needed to get away. I think I'm starting to feel better.
I bring my muffin to my mouth, and... wait a minute. This doesn't smell like a blueberry muffin. I bring the muffin closer to my nose and inhale deeply.
"Chocolate? I didn't order chocolate." As much as I like chocolate, I prefer to have my chocolate and my muffins separate. Don't come for me.
"I'll be right back," I tell Chloe, not that she would notice. She's busy scrolling away on Instagram.
I get up from my seat and walk over to the counter.
"Excuse me? Um, excuse me?" I called, trying to get someone's attention.
"I'll be right with you!" Someone called from another room, presumably the kitchen.
I take a seat at the counter, my muffin in hand. I hear someone approach the counter.
"Hello? Excuse me but I think there's been a mix up. I ordered a chocolate chip muffin." A guy's voice said.
My head perked up. Chocolate chip muffin?
"I'll be with you in a second sir!" Chimed the disembodied voice.
I hear chocolate muffin guy sit down at the counter next to me."Um, I'm sorry. To bother you," I turned my head to look at muffin guy. "I think our orders were mixed up. Did you say you ordered a chocolate muffin? I ordered a blueberry muffin. I think this," I held up the chocolate muffin. " Is yours." I placed it in front of him.
He looks up from his phone at the muffin.
"Oh, thanks. I guess this is yours."
He holds it out to me as I reach for it, and our hand lightly brush against each other. I look up to say thank you, but the words never make it out. I am looking into the most beautiful brown eyes, warm and inviting, both of them staring right back at me.
