"Welp, that's about the last time I'll go outside in a storm." I said, brushing the rain out of my thick, dark, wet, hair. A towel was wrapped around my shoulders, and water streamed onto my forehead. From my HAIR. I am not going outside again.

"Really?" the girl said sarcastically. She was huddled by the fireplace in the cottage we had found. Her hair wasn't wet like mine because she did a drying spell and dried it off. Now, she's just hogging the fire from me.

"How did you even get to this Realm anyway? Earthens cannot fly. Earthens cannot teleport. Earthens cannot-"

"Forget it. I alreay know a bunch of stuff Earthens cannot do. Have YOU forgoten. I AM one." I said. How we ended up together, I don't know. All I know is that Fate hates me and so I get why he would put me with the only person I hate. But why me? For real. I'm a good girl. I haven't even stayed up past curfew, or did a hit and run (and yes, I am 17, why else can I drive?) It couldn't have been mom. Or dad. The only memories I have of them are- none. My parents died with Fever when I was 4.

Raymone fluttered her dark eyelashes up at me. In a sarcasic way. "Answer my question. Addilyn Ice." She said my name with such venom. I was afraid she would use her Gift on me.

I sighed. "Fine." I submitted. I'd never told anyone my story. My actual one. Not my cover-up.

I took a deep, filling breath, and let myself speak.
