Kurokos p.o.v.
I didnt know where I was going. I didnt recognize my surroundings or anything like that. Oddly enough, I couldnt bring myself to care either. I just got back from the airport where I saw Kagami off. He was going to play in the NBA, just like he always said he would. I was happy for him, but this basketball season isnt going to be the same.
I looked up and looked around. I was in a crowded area, plenty of people. I guess I could ask where I was, but that would make me look crazy wouldnt it? I saw a bookstore and my feet where moving before my mind reacted. I found myself between bookshelves, looking at authors I never knew existed.
Captain. I heard a familiar whine, and a bubble pop. I ignored the sounds and pretended to be interested in the books. That might be where I found my comfort, looking at different spines and titles. Ooh! Captain! I found something interesting! The voice said again, and I definitely knew that voice.
What is it idiot? A bored voice asked, an annoyingly bored voice I might add. I just walked into a different isle, but the guy who kept saying captain was following me. Finally, I looked up angrily.
Why are you- I shut my mouth when I looked up to see purple-gray locks, and a huge bubble being blown in my direction.
Long time Shadow-Kun. Hara said, and everything suddenly made sense. Hanamiya was here too if Hara was calling someone captain. I couldnt move fast enough out of that bookstore. I was in no mood to deal with anyone, especially not anyone from Kirisaki Daiichi.
I found myself at a park instead and sat down on a bench when my phone buzzed. Just a text from coach asking where I was. I sighed and called her.
Where are you?!
Im not sure.
What do you mean youre not sure?!
I started walking and didnt stop.
A moment of silence before a sigh. Okay, look around, where are you?
A park.
Whats the name?
I found the sign and relayed the park and coach said she was sending Furihata to get me. I sat on the bench for a good while before Furihata beckoned me over.
Its pretty sad right? He asked after a few minutes, and I nodded.
Its going to be different. Kiyoshi-Senpai is gone. So is Kagami-Kun. Can we actually make up for that gap? I asked, and Furihata shrugged.
I dont know Kuroko, but at least we won the winter cup. We sent them off with a good head. Furihata tried to cheer me up, but I stayed silent. At least, until I heard a bark, I looked up and Furihata looked panicked.
Sorry, coach told me to bring Nigou, and I forgot he was in my bag. Furihata said and handed me my dog. Nigou looked at me, and I couldnt help but smile. I set him on my head, and we continued walking.
Eventually we got to the school, and a depressed aura enveloped the gym. I sighed and walked to the seniors. Dont be depressed, we can fill the gap. I said, and they smiled.
Its not about basketball. Its just us thinking, this is our last year, its sad. Izuki said, and I nodded.
Then lets make a memorable year. I said, and coach sighed.
You say it like its easy. She said sadly, and I shrugged.
It is. You just have to have fun. I said.
We had a short practice and went home. Overall, it was a depressing day, and I wanted nothing more than to go home, but someone had other plans. Nigou kept barking and pulling me in another direction.
After a while I gave up and followed him as he led me to the courts Kagami and I used to play at. They were empty now, but I smiled. As far as I knew, these courts had a lot of memories. They were where Kagami and I 1 vs. 1 for the first time, where Aomine showed Kagami the differences in their strength. Not long ago, the Generation of Miracles gathered here for my birthday.
Nigou sat down, and I followed suit. The sun was setting, and there was a perfect view here. We watched for a while, and I let my mind wander to whether Kagami was looking at the same sunset. Probably not, there is a 17-hour time difference. I guess he would be seeing the sunrise, but was it this beautiful?
When the moon came out, Nigou and I actually went home and settled down. Nigou sat on the couch, and I went to my room. After taking a shower and brushing my teeth, I laid down and fell asleep reflecting on everything the day held.
